Too much for Dak?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Too much for Dak?

Postby Bay City Original » Fri Mar 25, 2022 7:51 pm

In a 10 team, SF, TEP league is giving up Mac Jones, Jameis Winston, and 1.05 a fair offer or not enough for Dak?

For me personally, I would trade this for dak for sure. Patriots have done absolutely nothing to help mac out and as of now I don’t see his value going up much this year due to this. Winston is a bridge guy to me and pick 5 has solid value, but id lean towards the dak side here for the safe, still young, elite upside qb

Fair trade value wise. Stepping down from Dak to Mac might be a challenge for the Dak owner.

I would offer it. Idk that it gets accepted by the Dak manager if this is an offer you’re considering offering up. Rookie fever is picking up though, so it’s possible. Dak is by far the best piece in SF.

I'm guessing it's light as Winston is probably a rental and Jones appears to have a limited ceiling but I think it's worth the offer.

I made a similar trade last week. I gave Tannehill Wentz and 1.07 for Dak. Though it is a 12tm SF and Dak was his only QB. So it is certainly possible your offer could get accepted.

It's fine in a 10 teamer. I'd probably just stick with Jones and Winston and the pick depending on who my qb1 was.

My QB1 is Lamar Jackson. Other QBs I have are Mac, Tua, Jameis, Marriota and Mitch.

I also have 1.03, 1.04, and 1.05 so I’m trying to trade up to get a second plug and play upper tier QB.

You should not be drafting a QB in the top 5 in a 10 teamer.

You appear to be overvaluing QBs.

Sorry…. Should have been more clear. I’m trying to use these QB and draft pick pieces to upgrade my QB position with a top tier QB, not trade up in draft for a QB.

But you got me thinking that I might be building in the wrong way.
Here’s my team… should I save the pieces and go for other positions?

My team is below:
1-2 QB: Lamar, Tua, Mac, Trubisky, Winston, Marriota
2-4 RB: Chubb, CEH, Mostert, McKissic, Dallas, Mack
3-5 WR: DJM, MThomas, McLaurin, Hollywood, Pittman, Rondale, Curtis
1-3 TE: Kittle, Geiseki, Goedart, BJordan, Allie-Cox
Picks: 1.03, 1.04, 1.05, 2.03, 2.04, 3.03, 4.03
Team 1 -12 Team, 0.5 PPR, QRRWWWTF 2022 Champ

I'd rather target wrs at 1.03, 1.04 and 1.05 and then use those 2nd rounders to trade for vet rbs. The combo of tua and Jones are fine for qb2.

This is a ten teamer, QB values are not nearly as high as 12 teamers.

With 5 (potentially) other starters after Lamar, you are fine at QB. Just play the matchups for QB2. Even consider benching Lamar when he has a tough matchup (historically vs Steelers) and 2, or more, others have ++ matchups.
As @abloom has mentioned, your league size changes the value of QB significantly as most teams probably have 3 QBs already so there is no scarcity desperation as in larger leagues. I would suggest focusing your draft capital on improving RB/WR. Specifically, drafting your RB1 or 2 if he falls to 3 or trading for younger vet WRs. The other way to do that is what @abloom suggested above.

Thanks.. makes sense. I was applying the theory that in 10 team leagues since having top tier players are “easier” to roster in a 10 team league to try and upgrade… but with so many startable QBs I prob should focus on upgrading RB and WR instead.
