Gesicki to Pitts What Does It Take?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Gesicki to Pitts What Does It Take?

Postby football_chewy » Wed Mar 09, 2022 10:17 pm

I would like to upgrade from Gesicki to Pitts in a TE premium league ( 2 pts/ rec and 7 point tds). I have 4 22 1sts including the 1.01, 1.03, 1.07 and 1.09. Would Gesicki and the 1.01 be an overpay or not enough?

Probably what it will take. If it's not enough, I'd just walk away.

I could see the 1.01 and Gesicki still not being enough but I think it's a fair offer.

I honestly would prefer Gesecki and 1.01, myself. I do't think Pitts will be that much of and advantage that he's worth missing on Hall, or the haul (sorry for the bad pun), the 1.01 will net you.

Depends on Pitts manager, I would need more. I would assume in that format he was drafted extremely high, close to 1.01, in a better rookie draft class than this year. He then went for the second most receiving yards ever for a rookie TE at age 20/21. Gesicki is 5 years older, less productive and to me is just a guy. Personally would not be close but I guess depends on their team needs.

Gesicki doesn't really do much for me, and I think whoever is taken at 1.01 is behind Pitts in the start up. So I think you're looking at gesicki, 1.01 and either the 1.07 or 1.10 for Pitts.

with this level premium 1.01 likely isn’t enough for Pitts and gesicki wouldn’t move the needle I imagine.

Maybe it's because I own Pitts, but this is what I was thinking too. How do we know Hall does not get drafted by Houston in the top of the second. In my experience the NFL draft disappoints with landing spots way more than it brings joy.

It's not because you own Pitts (though that's easy for me to say because I also have a share of Pitts). I'm looking at it from a pure value standpoint.

Pitts is going in the first round of startups of TE premiums or at worst begining of the second round. I don't think any rookie will be taken that high in startups which means that the 1.01 is less valuable than Pitts.

Since gesicki isn't part of the top 6 TEs he's basically interchangeable with all other TEs for me.

I don't think I'd pay the 1.01, 1.03 and gesicki for Pitts but the 1.07 or 1.10 ontop of the 1.01 seems most reasonable.

Not to mention this isn’t a (mostly meaningless) 0.5 premium, it’s a full Ppr which makes TEs flexible and has a massive impact. Many people would argue pitts is the #1 non qb in this format (not me but only a few ahead of him).

Gesicki, 1.01 and 1.03 is most likely what you'd have to offer to have even have a shot a Pitts. At that rate I'd hold on to the assets.

Most Pitts owners arent going to take Gesicki and the 1.01 in a standard league. In 2TEP, it's going to require a significant overpay, and likely not worth the price at this point.
