DK value?

Hello friends,

I'm looking for some information on the value of and perception around DK Metcalf.
- On paper, he's a solid 2nd round startup ADP player, a young WR on a bad offense with not much competition around him.
- However, he seems to be up for sale everywhere I look, and no one I've talked to seems to be interested in him at his current price tag.

So, how would you value DK in a dynasty format? Would you be buying or selling him for the next 1-3 years?

Great buy low candidate. Just a year removed from a 83/1300/10 season and it looks like Russ isn't going anywhere. Wilson was not the same following a broken finger on his throwing hand in the middle of the year, but I see no reason why he won't be fine heading in to 2022 and DK still finished just outside the top 12 in scoring. If you can get him for a Mid first and a late first I'd be all about it.

He is still a great buy for me with almost any build. Some managers may be looking to get out and as mentioned above, if you can land him for a mid 1st + another decent piece, I would jump on it. I think his value will rebound a bit this year. He is still a nice piece to have on any build or format.

These are a couple of deals I've seen over the past week or two:
- DK for Aiyuk and 1.08
- DK, Kmet, and Baker for Mike Williams, Freiermuth, and a late first

It seems like all the current DK owners want nothing to do with him, and yet there's still almost no one else of any value on the current roster, so maybe that's a reason to buy.

The second deal is a great price for the one who traded for Metcalf. He is certainly worth a price check as a buyer but is a hold if you have him.

I think he’s a solid buy/hold as well I have him as my WR8 in dynasty which is lower than some but I think the WR3-11 are all very even. Should be very productive as long as Russ can get cooking a little bit

What do we think now that Wilson is likely moving on and Lock and Eason the only QBs on the current roster? I know Russ was hurt, but it also looked like some teams were better at bracketing Metcalf. I’d buy, but lower than we’ve discussed so far.

His value should definitely drop. It's hard to imagine a QB situation that brings it back up immediately. It's possible that his value will continue to drop a little throughout the season if they have to go with Lock. I'm not ready to give a price on him. I need to let the dust settle some.

His value will obviously drop in the near term, but DK is a beast of a talented WR. His situation could easily change in the next year or two as he enters his second contract. Will he want to hang around for what looks like a long rebuild? I think he finds a solid landing spot in 2023. For dynasty, buy low. For redraft I'm avoiding.

X2. Not the day to sell DK. Short term value hit, but he's so young and talented that there's no reason to move on from him now.

I have Barkley and a slew of TEs on my roster, and the DK owner needs to make a move this off-season due to a league rule. I'm thinking about offering him Barkley plus a TE like Goedert or Freiermuth for DK plus another small piece. Does that seem like too much to give up for DK right now?

I would definitely do that. Chat with him. Tell him you'll move Barkley and then gauge how much more he'd want. Basically work your way up... but if Barkley is the big piece I'm giving up, it's a no brainer.
