Recent super athletes to come out like Chase(4.38, 41” vert, 132” broad) and DK(4.33, 40.5”, 134”) make this class look pedestrian, as expected by devy players. Out of the top 2022 guys…
Burks(4.55, 33”, 122”)
Wilson(4.38, 36”, 123”)
Olave(4.39, 32”, 124”)
Pickens(4.47, 33”, 125”)
Moore(4.41, 34.5”, 125”)
Dotson(4.43, 36”, 121”)
Bell(4.65, 33”, 118”)
None stand out. But testing isn’t everything, AJ Brown(4.49, 36.5”, 120”) was quite underwhelming compared to DK, and lines up more with many of the 2022 guys performances, albeit at 6’ 225+.
Their short splits matter more to teams, as well as 3 cone, but less guys will likely run 3 cone than did the 40.
And watching the route and catching drills I agree Wilson looks like the alpha of the combine, but I think Sky Moore and Pickens also did themselves big favors here. Overall though, combine for the WRs just isn’t that important. Bad, or at least average, metrics can be overcome at the position more than at others.
Looking forward to seeing the RBs, some of the combine metrics matter a lot more for them than the WRs.

Yup, as a 22 its not nearly as bad as everyone sayser and someone who views WR athletic measurables as simply meeting minimums I saw just about everyone check another box(Bell potentially not, over 4.6 can be rough)SoftwoodGrampian wrote: ↑Fri Mar 04, 2022 8:29 am ‘22 lovers loved the combine

Electronic timed 40. And the list of athletic WRs better than this class is a long one.Kcarr wrote: ↑Fri Mar 04, 2022 3:59 pmBut they tested worse than probably the freakiest athlete at the position right now and probably the best prospect in years with a hand timed 40, probably not worth drafting any of themdynastyninja wrote: ↑Fri Mar 04, 2022 8:23 amI don't think a bunch of guys in the 4.4s is evidence of this class being pedestrian. Here are some guys from the past several drafts(definitely not an exhaustive list) that weren’t better prospects but were clearly better athletes than any of the top 2022s listed above…
DK
Chase
DJ Chark(4.33, 40”, 129”)
DJ Moore(4.42, 39.5”, 132”)
Darius Slayton(4.39, 40.5”, 135”)
Parris Campbell(4.31, 40”, 135”)
Miles Boykin(4.42, 43.5”, 140”)
Donovan Peoples-Jones(4.48, 44.5”, 139”)
Henry Ruggs(4.27, 42”, 131”)
Jalen Raegor(4.47, 42”, 138”)
Chase Claypool(4.42, 40.5”, 126”)
Rondale Moore(4.28, 42.5”, )
Kadarius Toney(4.39, 39.5”, 136”)
Not being a freak athlete doesn’t preclude any of the top 2022s from becoming elite WRs - J Jeff, AJ Brown, Deebo, Kupp, Hopkins, Adams, and on and on didn’t test off the charts. But elite athleticism does correlate with success to a degree, and let’s not pretend the combine was impressive or bumped the stock of any of the top 2022 WRs.
Instead, later guys like Sky Moore, George Pickens, and, reviewing the numbers, Christian Watson(!) benefited the most. Watson was THE lone freak athlete yesterday. At
6’4 208 he ran 4.36, jumped 38.5” vertical and 136” broad. If I learned anything from the WRs at the combine it would be to keep an eye on these later guys, Watson especially.

And now today, the RBs measured up real nice except for Kyren Williams. Can’t wait to get some speed scores from them
Re: 2022 NFL Combine
So what I am hearing is even though this is the fastest overall class in the history of the NFL Combine we shouldn’t draft any?
I guess that saying “Speed Kills” means squat!
WTF

Re: 2022 NFL Combine
Breece Hall 40” vertical @ 5-11 217
Other recent big jumpers:
Chris Evans 40.5” @ 5-11 211
AJ Dillon 41” @ 6-0 247
James Robinson 40” @ 5-9 219
Clyde Edwards-Helaire 39.5” @ 5-7 207
Justice Hill 40” @ 5-10 198
Travis Homer 39.5” @ 5-10 201
Saquon Barkley 41” @ 6-0 233
Kerryon Johnson 40” @ 5-11 213
Closest height weight vert for Hall are Chris Evans and Kerryon Johnson. If he runs a low 4.5 or better he hits 100+ speed score and checks all kinds of metric thresholds that we want to see.

Re: 2022 NFL Combine
Breece Hall making a case to be the only tier 1 type prospect in the class combining measurables, athletic metrics, and production. There were roughly 7+- in each of 2020 and 2021. Good for him.

Re: 2022 NFL Combine
Kyren Williams literally just detonated his draft stock lol. Poor guy. The Dion Lewis comp might fit athletically
That man should fire his agent for letting him run like that.
Spiller must be damn slow if he’s not running.
Or he’s got a good agent haha

Not good. He's been touted as high as RB3 by some sites.
