D'Onta Foreman is back to stay?

Postby _yeti » Thu Dec 23, 2021 8:19 am

D'Onta Foreman looks like an entirely different player. I have not seen every snap but from what I see he came back burly and fighting for every yard. It was never really a question of whether he had talent but more injuries, work ethic concerns, professionalism type stuff. I see a guy that knows he's on his absolute last chance who is running with some determination who was always a back who previously leaned more toward finesse.

A player reformation that comes to mind is CPatt. I never thought he could or would lean into his athleticism and play physical, or really commit to the game but look at him. I was totally wrong, largely based on human nature and previous players in the same molds. We rarely see people make large changes to their style of play but more so do a 180 on preparation and work ethic.

I'm starting him in the playoffs (do at your own risk, dont blame me if that does not work out), but dare I say he still carves out a role in this league? From being done for to recognizing that if you absolutely ball out in the fantasy playoffs you can revive your whole image but also put down enough tape to show you deserve a role in the league?

What say you on his future?

Backup RB for his career. I've liked Foreman coming out of college and he looked promising but just don't see it.

MAYBE a RBBC.

I agree with he post above me . He just doesn't have the juice needed to be a long term starter . He is slow to get started and doesn't have much agility .

He was free everywhere, I'll take it. Yes, I don't think anyone gives him a bellcow role but I'm happy to have him for depth or dangle him if he can do this again. I wonder what kind of contract he's on if he can capitalize on this. Anybody know?

I take this one back Tennessee and Foreman looked horrible last week. Hard to imagine it's the same team Derrick Henry ran wild for. Re-evaluating my stance and as much as I have wanted him to succeed this probably amounts to less than a future RBBC situation for him and more of a journeyman third string backup role

Yeah he had a two week stretch where I thought he could be the guy…in one championship I’m debating between him, Dare O and SAQUON BARKLEY lol

Now that's just sad. I'm not gonna post what I gave up for Saquon preseason on one of my rosters. (It's way too much :shh: )

How about this one, as a championship flex would you go Melvin Gordon or D'Onta Foreman?

I gave up a good amount to get him too…felt like an absolute steal when I did it! It’s pretty sad I was doing better when he was hurt and I was going with Booker.

Gordon has been so solid before this past week I would probably go with him.

Unfortunately I feel the same way. That nightmare outing last week almost cost me a championship appearance so I am feeling a bit burned by him but I think I go Gordon over Foreman.

It's pretty clear that Barkley was never 100% this year. Hoping after a full offseason he can have a comeback year next year. I think it's pretty likely actually but hard to feel that way at the moment
