Stalworth hit a man jaywalking in early morning hours. He plead to a lesser charge after also reaching an agreement with the family.

Ruggs hit another car. It will be easier for a DA to believe he can get a conviction. There was enough concern that atleast one jury member would believe that stalworth couldn't have done anything different and resulted in a hing jury.

Even an early guilty plea can be a year long process. Then add jail time, which he will get unless he beats the charges, which is unlikely.

Vick is the only one I can think of, but I don't think he missed 3 years. Alex Smith missed less as well

Not that he needs anything else piled on cause it sounds like a long jail sentence regardless, but also reading they found a loaded gun in the car.

He's charged with DUI with serious bodily harm (for the injuries to his GF) AND reckless driving with death (for the other driver). The penalties are 1-6 years AND 2-20 years, respectively so he's looking at 3 years minimum...and I don't see any way he gets the minimum here.

If his lawyers take it to trial, which would mean the pictures of the fireball that was the car and the fact that the other driver was burned to death would be entered into the public record and consideration in sentencing, it would suggest to me he'd get the max on both in that case.

This isn't 2 years in jail, folks. If I were laying odds I'd say 6 minimum.

I'm not sure if this would of made NFL stay away, but I'm pretty sure that his prison legth will make a return to the NFL really difficult.

That is disgusting... I live in canada where the fastest posted speed limit I've seen is 100... KM/h... on a flat straight highway.. This guy was just pedal to the metal while very not sober... I really hope he doesnt get any special treatment

This depends on if they sentences run consecutive or concurrent.
Also, in Nevada they don't give out the minimum or maximum. The Judge sets a range, like 2-6. There is a 40% rule and such. The minimum would be when the person is eligible for parole. In addition, you can get time off for good behavior. Probably doesn't go to trial as you say.

But I'd definitely take the wager he doesn't do more that 5-6 years. (actual time served) (and not that he wouldn't deserve it)
I'd say more like 2-3. Working in the system for 12+ years we had a saying, if you ever wanted to kill someone, do it with a car.

I actually dont think it matters for his career, its over anyway. Let it be the minimum of 2 years or even less, maybe even no jail time at all(if he get AHerns 2nd lawyer Jose Baez). His career is over. The fact that he caused a car crash while being drunk and the victim possibly burning to death(could possibly deceased right away, an autopsy will show that) should be enough for any franchise not to sign him ever again. Its just to gruesome to asociate yourself with that in any way shape or form.
