Ever see or discuss trade swapping entire teams?

Postby SteelLake » Wed Oct 06, 2021 5:43 am

Not for fun or anything, but just as a legitimate trade that both owners think benefits them.

Was having a text discussion / debate, with a friend on who’s roster is better constructed (it’s legitimately very close), and we aren’t doing it, but i joked “sooo, trade every asset you have for every asset I have”?

Just became curious, if anyone’s ever seen 2 differing but reasonable opinions lead to this.

I’m guessing it’s super rare, cause most people are risk averse and get attached to their guys.

Also had more unreasonable thought of this happening in real life (that’d be hilarious if like every player on the ravens became every player on the Bills or something).

Weird thoughts, but this is a dynasty general discussion after all!

Maybe not every asset, but I could see a big trade involving 6 major assets on one team going for 6 major assets on another team.

One guy may favor one set of RBs over the other set of WRs.

RussWilson/Kamara/Ekeler/Lamb/JJefferson/Chase/Waller
for
JoshAllen/Taylor/JRob/Jacobs/DavAdams/Nuk/Hock

I could see two different takes on each of those groups.

I've never seen it and would assume it's almost never happened (though I've been curious, too).

It takes two owners agreeing that the other's team is better than their own, which has to be pretty rare (pride and all that).

The idea has crossed my mind before. My teams are all top 3-5 teams, though. It was more out of boredom, that I considered it. It's an interesting idea. Have to do it by trade though, no switching owners out on the teams. Just seeing that 50 plus player and pick trade on MFL one day would be the funniest thing.

Weirdest thing I ever saw was these guys were in two leagues together - they had proposed that one would lose a trade in one league so they could win in the other league, essentially balancing it out WTF

I did this back in 2005 in a yahoo work redraft in week 3. We met in the championship and he won by a few points. I beat him in the regular season week 2, that started the conversation. It wasn't that weird because they were both auto-drafted teams.

I have traded my first 3 draft selections for another teams top 3. I was essentially saying my team is better than yours and if you think yours is better accept. They did. I was wrong.
