Time to spend picks

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Time to spend picks

Postby shiningaxl » Tue Sep 28, 2021 2:51 pm

This is for the team in my sig. I have been rebuilding the past 2 years and I'm not sure what direction to go. I am in the middle of the pack right now for PF and in the standings. With AJB, Jeudy, and Diontae Johnson injured I'm not sure how the rest of the season is going to go. Currently I can't compete with the top 2 teams but I could make the playoffs if things swing right. I'm trying to figure out if I should hold and build through the draft next year or try and spend some picks. Ideally I would wait until draft season to spend the picks but I didn't know if I should try and make some buy low moves now. I've got 4 2022 1sts. It is looking like one will be late, 2 will be mid- late and 1 will be mid- early but not 100% sure on those either. I guess I'm just wondering what others would do in this situation. Thanks in advance to any replies.

With still building and not really contending with the top two teams, I would hold your picks outside of an offer that blows you away. Picks will be more valuable in the offseason once the combine and rookie fever hits just like it does every year. Again, if a great offer comes, I would gauge from there but the hype and value will be this offseason, not in week 4. Keep holding!

It all depends on who you are actually targeting in those trades. If it is young players with bright futures then I would consider it. Definitely not older or even middle aged guys. People don't usually trade young potential studs for a 1st, but it does happen. So ask around and see who wants to sell what.
I would be keeping the early 1st outside of a great offer, and the other picks I would be more apt to sell.
Yes, the picks do increase in value as time goes in, but if you can correctly identify which ones are going to late then you can potentially sell them now for more than they will be worth later, to a team not as educated as you.
I feel like I just write a bunch of non insightful dynasty 101 crap. Lol.
Good luck.

Looks like the RB room is the issue. Not sure what you would look to get buy obvious upgrades needed there. If you can find some buy lows but not sure banking on a buy low to rebound will do it. Hold the picks and load up on RB next year IMO. I would look to get what you can out of Higbee and Peyton Barber right now. Coming off big games
