I am a long term Mims doubter and I would buy him from anyone selling on the cheap. The coaches have not said anything bad about Mims. All the reports are from the press seeing him working with the 3's. Then it was the 2's. While the stat line means little to me if you just watch him in that preseason game he looked good, I think he is a great sleeper and would look to move an aging guy I know has hit his ceiling for the chance Mims proves out. Moore is hurt now the doors opening and Mims is ticking up IMO.

By who? Moore is a rookie and his game is different. Corey Davis is a solid vet but not someone who commands a large share of targets. Then we get to Keelan Cole. Cole is talented and could be productive in the right system, but he isnt a dominant receiver. The running back group isn't very strong either. Plus they have a rookie qb with a lot of potential.

Guess I don't see the point in moving on from him for that return unless you're really just down on him. I'd rather be patient and see what happens. Cashing out on Jordy Nelson after year 2 for a 3rd back in the day taught me a lesson.
Well to that end, if it's a Superflex league... I'd probably rather gamble on Elijah Moore or Terrace Marshall right now...

But that's why you're not getting a 2nd for ol' Denzel right now. I paid 2.05 when Saleh and LaFleur were hired, perhaps a bit prematurely. I really do think he's the best long-term bet at X receiver for the Jets, though.

Kollman did a nice breakdown of him here a year ago when he was coming out. All this stuff is still true. (Lol... manscape)

Do you use Marshall because of his one catch in preseason so far? He was run down pretty easily on that play. Plus his qb is Darnold. I think Wilson's ceiling is much higher than Darnold

No, I use Marshall because I really like his production profile and athletic measurable. QB is fungible and we play dynasty; I consider the player as a self-contained entity before applying tie-breakers like QB situation, contract, and team situation.

Marshall is a beast and ticks a lot of boxes that most receivers are missing in this rookie class (specifically size-to-weight). His QB is Darnold THIS year... Carolina been pretty up-front about wanting to solve for a "franchise QB" above all else. They'll be aggressive if Darny isn't the answer.

I'm not worried about a singular preseason catch, either for or against. Lol.

Mims hurt his hip. Not looking to be anything serious, but he limped off and did not return.

100%

Marshall is being slept on by a lot of people only taking a cursory look at his profile. He's got a lot going for him, and while he doesn't have as robust of a profile as you may like.. he found a way to produce while competing for targets vs the WR that just put out the most productive rookie season of all time and a guy that was just taken top 5 in the NFL... and then emerged as the undisputed alpha once those road blocks were gone.

Did you actually draft him in a redraft league?

Otherwise hold on and wait for something to happen.

This is painful to watch. Drafted him mid/late 2nd last year and he’s been snakebitten ever since. COVID, food poisoning, Wilson being a disaster so far… at least other teams are asking about him, hopefully he gets traded at some point.

Based upon nothing but my own opinion, at this point I'm putting this all on the Jets. How you don't find a spot for this guy on the game day roster when your offense is struggling is just bad coaching at this point.

It’s getting harder and harder to find excuses for Mims. Sure, is there a chance that the coaching staff just doesn’t like him or that he’s been snakebitten with various ailments to the point where he is a healthy scratch in back to back weeks? Yea, I guess. But the harsh reality is with each passing week he is unable to beat out the likes of Keelan Cole, Jeff Smith, and Braxton Berrios, the further down the abyss he falls. For me, it’s incredibly damning that he can’t crack the starting roster on team with a WR-corp as devoid of talent as this one and I’m not sure that he’d find an easier path to targets elsewhere.

I'm confused with the Jets and the Mims situation. If they don't like him, fine but then why not trade him? There are reports more than one team has kicked the tires on trading for him and the Jets have declined.

They’ve said they are “still high on Mims longterm”.

Makes sense to me. The Broncos just lost KJ Hamler. Lets say *knock on wood* the Jets trade away Mims for a minimal return, and then experience a rash of injuries - not only have they gotten little in return, but now Wilson has an even more barren landscape. It is not like he is costing them a fortune to pay, and there is a difference between needing to use him and wanting to use him eventually.
Please speak to clarion contrarion before considering the use of vetos..
