Ty Johnson

Postby dvpkwys » Thu Sep 09, 2021 7:22 am

I thought there was a thread on him already, I can't find it so I apologize if its out there!

Johnson is sitting on my wire, thoughts on him moving forward? Should be RBBC in NYJ, but seeing some buzz. Don't know a lot about him, still young at 23.

He is worth an add since the offense should be much improved, and if Coleman gets hurt he could see a flex worthy amount of touches

Even if Coleman doesn't get hurt, he's worth the add for free. I could easily see a situation where Johnson takes control of that backfield for the year. Coleman hasn't looked great the past couple years even when not injured and Carter isn't exactly a can't miss prospect. Just make sure to flip him immediately if he does take control of the backfield, because he probably doesn't have a ton of long term value.

He's likely a short term asset, but theres a wide open depth chart. Coleman can't stay healthy, and Carter has done nothing to take control.

I've been scooping up Ty Johnson off of every waiver wire and with the last redraft pick this year. Tevin Coleman is washed and Michael Carter has some work to do before he is ready. I wouldn't be shocked to see Johnson take over the lead role in NY and turn into a Myles Gaskin from last year type of player.

I like Ty Johnson this year. He is one of those guys that you can't lose anything from because he is most likely free. Finding RBs like that are rare and should be scooped up immediately.

What if the offense is at least middle of the pack?
What if the line is a top half of the league unit?

There should be a lot of carries if those possibilities come true. Saleh is the head coach. I would assume he wants more of a run heavy offense.

Have him in a few leagues. Best ball, one of them, which I like. He should have some decent games this year. He put up over 100 yards on the ground last year in a game, when he got lead back duties. Good athletic profile, decent size. I don't think any Jets RB is a long term answer there.
