Acquire Akers? (Poll)

Team 1 in signature. My team is very much in win now mode, but has plenty of depth and top end talent.

Do I offer what should be a late 2022 1st for Akers to help extend my competitive window beyond the next season or 2?

I’m being offered a 2023 1st that could potentially be a top 5 pick but since it’s so far out that could easily change. I’m thinking of declining. I voted for Akers in the poll but that’s just my preference.

I still believe in his talent and work ethic. I’d still give him a better chance of being an elite RB than Michael Carter.

The injury is very concerning, but I could see gambling for a late 1st...but it's a big gamble.

Your 1st should be very late IMO. I’d gamble on Akers for that. All else fails you have many assets to get you an earlier 1st another year

a late 1st in a 1QB league and in a weak class (or so i'm told). i'll gamble on akers for that, doesn't even need to be back at 100% for you to win the trade.

Akers is done. He may hang around another year or two, but his production will vanish. One of the things that made Akers good was his elusiveness, and this injury will probably remove that ability. He'll be a plodder at best.

I cannot justify paying a 1st for Akers based on what I've learned over the past 24 hours. The odds are stacked against him. You lose a full year of production and likely at least half a year next year, even if he comes back eventually to full strength, he won't be the same guy.

That's a tough injury to come back from. And crazier things have happened than Henderson having a good year and keeping a major part of the 2022 running share. I would keep my 1st.
