If Dez and Maclin come down to preferance, then they are actually equal in value and it comes down to Little/Ballard verses Salas/Gronk. Give me Little/Ballard. Little has huge upside and I like upside in young players. Gronk is a good TE and the safer side of the deal (both in Malin v Dez and Gronk v Ballard), but I perfer to have my value in WR then TE. I always think I can find a player to get by on at TE and TE's are cheaper then their WR counterparts. However, that might come down to preferance as well.
I'm the opposite. I'm a firm believer in having an elite TE - it makes a HUGE difference and thankfully, many owners overlook it.

I own Dez/Little in one league and I'd do that deal in a heartbeat knowing I have steady, borderline elite income at my WR2 position and outright elite income at the TE position.

From my pov as an owner, there are a crapload of WRs in the league; based on sheer numbers, you can almost always turn over a few rocks in the dark corners of the waiver pool to unearth something serviceable, even a hidden gem. TE's are much more difficult to come by b/c *very* few in the league are elite, and the number of other TEs to draw from are so small.

You're locked and loaded at WR2 and TE1 for a few years now, maybe even WR3 if Salas turns into a target monster in that system. He's already showing as serviceable.

Nice deal, imo.
Thanks...Tho I think of Maclin as my WR3 (depending on AZ's QB situation)...I have Calvin and Fitz ahead of him.

Id slightly prefer Dez because he is the better talent..but lets get a few things straight. Dez most definitely IS a MORON, any rookie who refuses to carry a veterans pads because his ego is so massive IS a MORON and a DIVA. Anyone who almost instantaneously racks up $800,000 worth of debt upon being drafted IS a MORON.

Character aside, Dez has a lot of talent but how the heck does a player whos done absolutely nothing consistently find himself ranked as a Top 7 dynasty receiver??

Moral of the story Dez = Very overvalued

No, he's just a misguided kid who was given the promise of a truckload of money and no supervision.

Besides, I would tell Roy Freakin' Williams to kiss my pucker too if he demanded I carry his pads. Veteran or not, and I've been the 'rookie' before.

Umm, have you watched this kid play??

Ah. Didnt notice that.

In light of that, I dont like the deal as much, but I still like it. With Dez, you could have had three of the top 5-7 dynasty WRs, all under 30 yrs of age, but you'll probably get more consistent scoring out of Maclin which will solidify your weekly points, especially with Fitz being so unpredictable.

I would now look at dealing Hernandez. Having two NE TE's is kind of redundant. Try to roll him into one of the Davis boys, or something like that...

I will say though that with Fitz having some issues this seasons at QB, once Calvin comes back I want to plug and play Maclin as needed and felt more confident. At the end of the day I think Dez has the potential to be a 5-7 WR but Maclin already is a 8-12 WR.

In regards to hernandez I will probably try to move him for a pick at the end of the year. This league we only keep 10 and I would not want to keep 2 TEs regardless of who they are. I just wanted to have my choice of which NE TE to keep for 2012.
