CMC or. ???

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

CMC or. ???

Postby vixen » Sun Jun 06, 2021 1:35 pm

this is a loaded question.. my team is a playoff team.. and likely a favorite to win it all.. I got an offer for CMC
lets start with 1QB ppr league .. 12 teams
Q: Lamar and Josh Allen
R: CMC, Dalvin, Davis, Damien Harris, Dillon, Gus, Hawkins
W: Tyreek, Adams, AJB, Amari Cooper, Antonio, Bateman, Parris, Dyami
T: Gronk/OJH, Irv
start 1Q, 2R, 3W, 1T 2 flex

the offer is
give CMC and Dillon
get Dobbins and Akers

would be nice to get younger I suppose, but if I make that trade does that put me out of championship?
right now starters would be
R: CMC and Dalvin
W: Tyreek, Adams, AJB
2 flex between Amari, Antonio, Davis and Harris

with trade:
R: Dalvin and Akers
W: same
2flex between Dobbins, Amari, Antonio, Harris and Davis

sorry for long post.. it does have me thinking though..

I don’t mind the idea of getting younger but as it is, it does not help you this year and could very well take you out of Championship contention.

I’d want something added in order to consider this. You just can’t ruin a good window while you have it!!
PW league - 10 tm Dynasty league-Roster/Keep 28 - Pass:1/20 3pt TD; Run/Rec:1/10 6pt TD; no ppr; no neg pts
st:1 qb, 2 rb, 3 wr, 1 te, 1 k, 1 d, no flex
QB - TLaw, Tua, JimmyG
RB - Chubb, Javonte, Perine, Jaleel, BRob, Moss, Bigsby, RoJo (Chi), Tucker, C-Rod, Chase, Spiller, Zamir
WR - Addison, Godwin, Nico, Gabe, Zay Jones, Mooney, Hyatt, Tillman
TE - Kincaid, Kraft
PK -Tucker
Def - 49ers
Picks: 2024 - 1-7, add’l 3rd; 2025 - 1-7

E league - 14 team-can keep up to 9 but keeper round moves up 1 each year, no 1st or 2nd round players can be kept; number is parens = next year’s keeper round; * = player was kept for 2023
Pass 1/20, 4pt TD, Run/Rec 1/10, 6pt TD, 1ppr, Fum/Int = -1, other scoring is pretty regular
QB - Jimmy G(*16), Purdy(*9), Stafford(12)
RB - D-Mont, AJ Dillon, Lenny(17), Carter (19), D’Onta(9), P Taylor
WR - JJeff(3), Adams(*4), Godwin(*8), MWill(*5), OBJ(*13), Woods, Hyatt(10), Tillman(18)
TE - PatF(6), Mayer(10)
PK - Moody
Def - TBB

I wouldn't do that. We play this game to win championships, and this trade moves you away from a 2021 ring. With your roster, my first thought would be to improve the TE position.

phu I dont know either. On one hand I love both akers and dobbins but on the other hand it's a lot of projection for both of them. CMC can do it with darnold as well as a rookie QB next year ;) and is still a crazy high start up pick...

I probably would ride with CMC and try to move him or dalvin after this season for the same price, they are still reasonably "young"

If you are all in this year, I would hold CMC and make a run or two. Long term goals, I would take the pair if you are looking down the road.

I think this is a smash on the Akers and Dobbins side...I get CMC but I couldn't pass this up

I like the Akers/Dobbins side. You’re taking a step back in production but gaining high end youth that will help your overall depth.

yep, that is the rub.. how much depth do I need though
I have Davis, Harris, Amari and Antonio(though he is obviously a one year guy) to fill the flex spot right now.. if I do the trade I will have Akers or Dobbins to add to that list..
it really is giving me a headache thinking about it..

Is that Najee or Damien Harris? Davis is a solid add for this year but I see him as being year to year at this point.

I think you’re in greater need of TE upgrade than two-for-one-ing CMC for RBs, especially if that Harris is Najee rather than Damien
