Lofty prediction for the only serviceable piece. I’m sure we know what the other piece is at this point.murphysxm wrote: ↑Tue Apr 06, 2021 8:44 pmI will not provide sarcasm, but this is a lofty prediction.Lumps wrote: ↑Tue Apr 06, 2021 8:40 pmYou guys are over here arguing about what's a fair price to pay for Robinson and I'm looking at this here.....The Godwin Complex wrote: ↑Sat Apr 03, 2021 7:12 pm
I actually think James Robinson/Carlos Hyde will be the next coming of MJD/Fred Taylor. It will be fun to watch the resurgence of the Jaguars.
I looked multiple times and I didn't see a hint of sarcasm anywhere...

Re: Buy Low/Sell High
I've been a Jrob hater for dynasty but I talked myself in to him. With a weak RB class he probably won't have any serious competition next season. The Jaguars will end up running the ball more in 2021 than they did in 2020, so his touches should remain the same as long as he maintains around ~65% of the backfield. And as long as he plays well, I think he will be seen as a proven NFL talent going forward.
It isn't unprecedented to have a udfa running back become the starter. Fred Jackson, Priest Holmes, Arian Foster, Austin Ekeler, and I would argue Chris Carson was in the same position as a 7th.
Some people look at Phillip Lindsay as a comparison but they aren't the same player. Lindsay is a 190 pound early down back that couldn't play 3rd downs. Robinson has 30 pounds on Lindsay and can play 3rd downs. Hes a much better player overall.
Hes a risk, but all things considered I think there's more reason to be optimistic about him rather than assuming he will ultimately be replaced.

I can eat crow on Fulgham. But Hyde has shown to be a very serviceable backup. Low cost insurance piece for a low cost investment = high ROI. Not a guy that wins you championships. But could be a guy that helps you get there when things are getting rocky.bjd5211 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 06, 2021 8:42 pmCarlos Hyde and Travis Fulgham are league winners, duh...Lumps wrote: ↑Tue Apr 06, 2021 8:40 pmYou guys are over here arguing about what's a fair price to pay for Robinson and I'm looking at this here.....The Godwin Complex wrote: ↑Sat Apr 03, 2021 7:12 pm

That's totally what I think of when I think of MJD or Taylor, whichever isn't being related to Robinson. Which, is a massive leap in itself. The Godwin Complex wrote: ↑Thu Apr 08, 2021 6:10 amI can eat crow on Fulgham. But Hyde has shown to be a very serviceable backup. slice the pie however you'd like. My point was that they will be deployed similarly to MJD/Fred Taylor as a 1-2 punch. Had nothing to do with comparing their fantasy values.Lumps wrote: ↑Thu Apr 08, 2021 7:31 amThat's totally what I think of when I think of MJD or Taylor, whichever isn't being related to Robinson. That's like saying Jalen Hurts to Jalen Reagor will be used similarly to McNabb to TO because they're both QB-WR combos...

Re: Buy Low/Sell High
That’s not anything like what I’m saying. I think the Jaguars rushing attack is a bit more complete with Hyde. Towards the end of Fred Taylor’s stint in Jax he was a highly productive backup. I think James Robinson will continue being the 3 down guy. But now the Jags have a solid backup to spell him with. I fully expect their rushing attack and offensive mentality to evolve this year. They may not be as highly regarded as MJD/Fred Taylor, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t in a position to be highly productive.StripesOfKC wrote: ↑Thu Apr 08, 2021 8:13 pmExcept not even close to 30% as good? The Godwin Complex wrote: ↑Thu Apr 08, 2021 7:33 pmslice the pie however you'd like. I think Armstead is a bigger threat to Robinson than Hyde is. He was set to start last year until the whole COVID thing derailed him. Armstead is s complete wildcard right now.

I actually just scooped Armstead in my league. I think he will battle with Hyde in camp for that backup role.

That's a good angle. I'll have to see if Armstead is available in mine.MFundercover wrote: ↑Sat Apr 10, 2021 3:28 pm I actually just scooped Armstead in my league. I think he will battle with Hyde in camp for that backup role.
Not all that counts can be counted. Not all that can be counted counts.
Re: Buy Low/Sell High
My condolences to those that bought high on James Robinson
Re: Buy Low/Sell High
I'd say true believers should be probing JR owners.

Maybe from a rebuilding squad. However I don't see any contender making that trade.
