Cook+ for MT+ Trade

Give: Dalvin Cook ,Mattison,2022 3rd and 2022 4th
Recieved: MT, Cam Newton,Boone, 2022 2nd and 3.12

Just completed this trade this morning and I figured it gives me much needed Qb depth and also with Start 3 wr and 3 flex MT will definitely serve his purpose. It also gives me much more flexibility with the 1.05 pick instead of force picking QB
Thoughts?

I still have Cook and Thomas relatively close overall and I expect Thomas to bounce back to a stud WR. I think Newton is terrible but he gives you another starting QB and his rushing TD's should keep him as an option if Goff does not pan out or to fill in on byes. I would take the Thomas side, but I always worry about Cook's health and him being available come fantasy playoff time.

I'd probably not give this, except if in desperate need at QB. And even then, I'll be full of doubts as to whether Newton is even a starter in 2021.

I like the Thomas side here long term. I’m not crazy about Newton, but if he keeps you from having to reach for a QB at 1.05 over taking BPA, then he’s a nice bonus here.
