Trading for JJ - Updated w/trade

Postby Indyfan1985 » Wed Feb 17, 2021 3:52 pm

I am looking to acquire Justin Jefferson in my 10 team league below, and have the current offer out there to the JJ owner. Do you feel the offer is fair and if not what needs to be added to either side?

I am offering WR Adam Thielen, TE Darren Waller, and my 2022 1st round pick

I would be getting WR Justin Jefferson, TE Dallas Goedert, and his 2022 2nd round pick

The other owner would have to be very high on Waller for this to have any shot. This offseason will be a very tough time to land Jefferson after the season he just had. It will likely take a huge overpay.

I’m sorry but that’s a laughable offer. You’re going to have to double it to have a shot.

I really don't think it's laughable at all. Waller is a top dynasty TE in a tier with Kelce and Kittle. And I agree I may have to add to it some but I don't think I would have to double the offer by any means.

It’s a pretty low ball offer. You for sure shouldn’t be getting Goedert and the 2 back.

I also doubt this gets accepted. I suggest you take the TEs and the 22-2 out of the deal and add DJM.

Now he's saying he'd do the deal if I removed Goedert from it.

An update that I made the following trade

I dealt WR Adam Theilen, TE Darren Waller, and my 2022 1st round pick

I got WR Justin Jefferson, TE Austin Hooper, and his 2022 2nd round pick

Yes I lose my very dependable TE in Waller that I used when Kittle was out this past year, but I'm betting on Theilen starting to decline at age 31 when the season starts, and Waller may have maxed out being the target hog in the Raiders offense these past 2 years.

Now I have an additional cornerstone piece on my roster in Jefferson, and in this past 2020 rookie draft alone I ended up with studs JT, JJ, Herbert, and Lamb.

Nice deal in the end to lock up Jefferson. This looks very good long term too. Congrats on getting your guy!

Do you think this at all hurts my chances at another championship this year by getting rid of win now pieces in Waller and Theilen? Or does my roster offset it?

This is silly cheap for JJ. JJ is a top 10 (5??) dynasty asset. Theilen is little more than a throw in here. Getting a 2nd back makes it even more lopsided. Wow....just wow.

I think you did really well here. Waller is a stud no doubt, but you have Kittle, who should return to form if he can stay healthy. I agree that Thielen may start declining soon, so its best to jump off the ride before that happens. As stated above, JJ is a top 10, maybe even top 5 dynasty asset going forward.

Waller may hurt a bit, but you have Kittle right? You landed a huge piece which is big especially long term.
