This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

JK and Jacobs trade

Postby Pomi4 » Tue Jan 26, 2021 4:59 pm

My team is in signature.

I was offered Josh Jacobs and 1.04 for JK Dobbins and 1.07.

Thoughts?

Thanks

I might be in the minority, but I'd stick with Dobbins over Jacobs. Defo wouldn't downgrade a pick to make the swap.

I am moving from pick 7 to 4 to trade away JK

I would hold Dobbins here. You will still land a solid prospect with the pick and I think Dobbins is better and will be more valuable overall than Jacobs.

I would stick with Dobbins here. If you were picking up Jacobs/1.04 without adding to your side, then maybe.

I would certainly consider it. For me the pick upgrade is significant enough to make up for whatever perceived upside Dobbins has over Jacobs.

This is going to be a tough decision for you. That pick allows you to pick back to back in the top 4, and Dobbins has shown a little more to me than Jacobs. The question will have to revolve around whether you think that elevated rookie tier pick is worth that gap, or you trust points from the lead back of LVR vs the likely committee points Dobbins will offer for BAL.

It seems pretty fair, so down to preference and team roster goals.

This is where I'm at too. I think there may be a decent tier break somewhere in the 5-6 range so being able to get up to the 1.04 is nice. Ultimately I'd say wait and do the trade after the NFL draft and really see if you want the 1.04 that badly. Even if its more expensive then to do the trade, hopefully sending over a 2nd would bridge that gap.

It puts you in the top tier for rookies, Harris, Etienne, Chase, Smith.

It's a pretty even trade. I like Dobbins a little more, but moving up a tier and getting back a quality young RB is fair. Take whichever RB you like best.

As a Dobbins owner, if I received an offer like this I'd have to strongly consider it. But I'll admit my bias as a fan of Jacobs in general.

I’m holding dobbins here personally. 1.07 and 1.04 are not much difference to me. I own both RBs and I’m more excited about dobbins than I am Jacobs. But both are great young RBs moving forward. Comes down to personal preference.

Man, here I thought I loved Dobbins, have him in 4/5 leagues. But he’s not that far ahead of Jacobs is he? I’d take this deal. If you’re on the fence about it, counter back with a 2nd tossed in.
