Ya, this thread is getting dangerously close to going down a path it really doesn't need to go down.

Anyway, rumor that Carolina might be interested un bringing him in. I think he's better off going somewhere with an unquestioned starting QB, and just learning how to be a pro, and maybe he can develop into a trade asset for that team if they are able to develop his talent. I think he should be trying to get to Seattle if he can and if they are willing to take him.

Would being a backup push him to truly focus on bettering himself? It's hard to say. Coaching staff can only push you so far, but if you're not willing to put in the work then you're doomed from the beginning. This has almost a Jamarcus Russell feel all over it with handing him a blank tape, asking him to watch it, and him giving a bogus answer about it. I'm hoping for Simba's sake he proves everyone wrong and can make a career, but this isn't a good start and going to be a steep uphill battle. It was definitely a wake up call.

Well there's absolutely no chance he's getting a starting gig, or even a chance to compete for one. If he wants to save his career and get a shot at starting again some day he's going to have to be a backup and work on rebuilding his reputation and learning how to be a pro.

He needs to land on a team with a vet QB that can mentor. There aren't many of those in the NFL

Which is what I said in my previous post. Seattle would be perfect for him, if they would take him.

Found the racist. My man here is literally using the phrase “race card” in 2020. It’s remarkable how aggressively these people tattle on themselves. Thanks for telling everybody who you are.
Bronco Billy wrote: Thu Dec 31, 2020 9:30 am I don’t care who it is that says what needs to be said and starts a discussion that will involve real solutions.
Uhm, solutions to what? What’s the problem here? And if you don’t care who it is that says it, why did you mention Booger and describe him as having credibility?
Bronco Billy wrote: Thu Dec 31, 2020 9:30 am You instead prefer to attack the messenger, which is a tiresome typical tactic of defection. The irony of your post is epic.
Who exactly have I “defected” to? Am I a Cuban baseball prospect? Please clarify.

I attacked the messenger because you invoked the messenger’s “credibility” to support your bigoted beliefs. I felt like that was remarkably simple. I don’t understand why you’re upset- you invoked Booger’s name as having “credibility” to support your regressive ideas, I explained why nobody should use Booger freaking McFarland’s opinion to support any argument, and now you called that “defection”. It’s a trash argument from somebody who still uses the expression “race card” in 2020.

For what it’s worth, I’m not entirely sure that recognizing that the thread where a dude is saying things like “race card” necessarily makes one prescient, but yeah, you were clearly correct.

I mean this thread getting locked down would be fitting. I have as much hope for this thread as I do Haskins career

What is the risk in this? bring him in house cheap during Ben's probable last year. Solid locker room that could get through to him. If he isn't the guy you draft another replacement next year. Smart organization move, but I have zero expectations
