Sutton or Hockenson?

Postby TheGunSlinger » Mon Jan 18, 2021 6:14 pm

Team in sign. Start 3-4 WR. 1qb league. Non TE premium. 25man rosters. Looking to add a young TE to help with my build. Have WR depth in AJB, Ridley, Diontae, Chark, Allen Robinson, Mooney, and Sutton. Can start 4Wrs. Would you move Sutton for TJ Hockenson?

Based on the format and no TE premium, I would take Sutton here.

I think with Tonyan and Harrison Bryant, you have a good te build going already.

I might be too high on Hockenson because I would have thought the value would be on his side.

This one is a tough one for me. I think it depends on the QB situations going forward for both teams. Hock was productive this year but who knows with a new coach/GM where the Lions go with QB if they stick with Stafford they have a good connection. I'm sure Denver will move on from Lock so that'll be something to watch.

I've never been a Sutton believer so I'd take Hock right now but I'd wait to see what the QB situations end up like.

Hock hasn't "hit" yet. If/once he does... Sutton won't get him. Being the offseason...most lean value. Tough to argue hock is a top 50 guy, most have sutton in there comfortably.

I guess I just have more questions than others when it comes to Sutton. Lock has looked bad. Hockenson is 2 years younger, coming off a TE5 season in a tougher position, on a team that currently has only 1 WR signed through next year, Cephus.

I'll be in the minority here and say Hockenson. Nothing against Sutton, I'd just rather have a young and productive TE given the position scarcity. Hock is a safe top 5 dynasty TE going forward, and the WR position is easier to fill.

I dealt Sutton heading into the playoffs this year. I think he’s all question marks; QB situation, stable of young receivers around him, lost a year of relationship building with offense, how does he deal with a significant injury, ELWAY...but he did ball out once already that we’ve seen

I like the Hock upside, he’s already got a good rapport with Stafford, and if it’s some new young QB next year, well those guys like a solid TE to rely on

I lean Hock in a close one. What best suits your needs?
