True, but if you extrapolate Dak's numbers from those same 5 games he was on pace to throw for 7000 passing yards, which obviously was not going to actually happen.

So yes, in the 5 games where Lamb played in the greatest 5 game QB passing yards stretch in NFL history he matched the output of what Jefferson did in a normal NFL offense.

Even Dak at his best will never put up passing volume at that rate again.
So you don't think with Dak playing the whole year Lamb couldn't have gotten 16 more catches for 300ish more yards? You have to admit that losing Dak stunted Lamb's production. Just like if Cousins got hurt I am guessing I would say the same thing about JJ's production being stunted by Sean Mannion.
Dalton and Cousins are similar in talent at QB. Dak is far and away better than both imo. So going to Manion isn’t nearly as bad as going to Dalton.
Threads like this make me dislike a player I actually like lol. Did you watch the first few games with Dalton? Or Garrett Gilbert? Or Ben DiNuci? They were collectively horrendous. Dalton picked it up toward the end of the season but that middle chunk was terrible for the entire offense. Again, I have no dog in this fight because in 19 keeper/dynasty leagues I own JJ in one and Lamb in one but to think that after one year that JJ is the clear choice I think is a bit short sighted. You are right, JJ didn't start the first two games, but Lamb lost his starting QB and was losing targets to WRs that may not even be there in a year or two. Honestly, if people do feel this way about Lamb I really may try to buy low this off season lol.

Good one; Cousins had a career year.

He was outstanding in almost every category. It looked liked a match made in heaven.

Agreed. I am waiting for the "If Jefferson was on the Chiefs with Mahomes he would have had 175 catches for 3200 yards and 38 TDs!!!"

Legit question, and maybe this is its own thread, but does anyone have any concern in the Vikings offense with Kubiak retiring? I have quite a few shares of Dalvin and it has legit made me nervous. Not panic sell nervous or anything, but just in general.

I think if you're holding Vikings WRs you shouldn't be worried about that. Vikings were 27th in pass attempts this season. If you're holding *E: Cook...

Yeah, I love Dalvin's talent, but Kubiak has a way of making very good RBs great.

If you know Mike Zimmer, he'll only hire an offensive coordinator who agrees to establish a strong run game. They're not going to switch to a pass happy offense. I'm not changing my thoughts on Dalvin or the WRs for next year.
Not all that counts can be counted. Not all that can be counted counts.

Seriously, Dalton was a passable starting QB in the NFL for years. You'd think he was some practice squad scrub. Yes Cousins had a very solid season (4,265/35/13), but Dalton has had seasons not too far removed from that (e.g. 2013 - 4,293/33/20 or 2015 - 16 game pace of 4000/31/9 (in 13 games played)). I'd rather have Cousins at QB, but the gap is not THAT big.

Nothing to do with either WR. My take is you're a party of 1 if you really think Dalton is remotely close to Cousins.

I get people love to hate on Cousins but he may be the most underrated QB in the league. Go back and study his numbers in Minnesota the last 3 years. His rating is over 100, his completion percentage is over 68%, He has had 91 TD's vs 29 int's and his Y/A is close to 8.

Those are elite numbers, Dalton is an old backup and his numbers the last 3 years are barely average.

My comment was tongue in cheek because your comment was way out in left field. No one really believes that and neither would you if you studied these two QB's.

I do like Dak better but Cousins is way closer to Dak than Dalton is to Cousins which was the point.

BTW pulling Dalton numbers 5-7 years ago doesn't strengthen the argument. Dalton is a backup QB and average these days. That should be obvious to everyone.
