David Montgomery value

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

David Montgomery value

Postby OhSnapItsAnt » Wed Dec 23, 2020 1:32 pm

Just wondering where everyone is at with Monty now..

I’m personally so glad I bought him pretty low and I think he’s showing us a glimpse of the future years as well. Very excessive but I read in an article that he should be a 1st or 2nd round pick in redraft leagues next year.

I’ve had a few mediocre offers recently and keep declining but I want to get your take on it. Is he a sell high? Or will he continue this type of performance in the future?

Thank you!

I like him as a hold if you own him and think he is worth a mid 1st at this point up from a late 1st. He has looked like a beast the last few weeks coming back from injury, but I would not go all in as a buyer at a very high price.

With the talent you have at the other skill positions and lack at rb, it would require a substantial offer for me to move him.

Listening to some dynasty podcasts, you could get the most value now selling to a team in the championship game looking for a RB. Montgomery has a had a great schedule and Tarik Cohen will be back next year potentially eating into Montgomery's workload.

I would try and package him with Andrews for a better RB, maybe Swift or similar?
8 Team PPR 2QB, 2RB, 3WR, 2TE, FLEX, 5 Bench

QB - Mahomes, Prescott, Carr
RB - R. Stevenson, A.Jones, A. Kamara, K. Herbert
WR - Adams, Diggs, Godwin, Hollywood , JuJu
TE - Kittle, Waller, Higbee
TAXI - Brian Robinson, J. Warren

Picks
23' 1st, 3rd, 3rd
24' 2nd
25' 1st and 2nd

1st or 2nd in redraft? Hard pass for me at that price. Good sel high if you can get a good package in my opinion.

Mid 1st is about his value I'd think. He's a high end rb2 with enough volume to give upside.
