Young, Late Round TEs

Postby Aldonall » Sat Nov 21, 2020 7:14 pm

We all know there’s an awful lot of young TE talent coming into the league right now (especially after this next class), but I’m curious what you guys think of some of the less heralded young players.

Guys like Kahale Warring, Drew Sample, Colby Parkinson, Kaden Smith, Brycen Hopkins, Josh Oliver

Those third round and later TEs who have come in and not necessarily flashed. Anybody have any strong feelings about any of them?

Knox and Oliver are names I am monitoring as guys who may step in and start next year. Kroft and Eifert are both FAs this offseason so if these guys have shown enough to the coaches then they may get their shot.

I think Uzomah is probably the guy to own in CIN if there is one.

Maybe try and stash the two NE rookies too. I have found Keene especially to be available in some deeper leagues so I have been squirrelling away some free shares in the expanded IR slots.

I like what I saw of Albert Okwuegbunam before he got hurt. Was getting a lot of red zone looks, even with Fant on the field. Hopefully Lock stays as starter and AO can return to 100%

For a Rookie TE, he's already flashing really well. I'm sad I dropped him at pre-season cuts.

He's still buried on the depth chart and won't be startable for another year, probably two. There are questions there with the QB. I'd sooner go try and buy someone more ready if you're shopping for a starter - but my gut feel is he will be good, but probably more as a "real life" player than a fantasy one. But! You could do a lot worse for a taxi stash.

Chris Herndon is someone who owners are probably down on right now, and could potentially be had cheap. If the price is right, and you want to gamble on a whole-sale NYJ shakeup this offseason - then it's a good future-focussed move.

I love Adam Trautman once Jared Cook is out of NO.
