Diontae+ vs Carson+

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Diontae+ vs Carson+

Postby mzkp54 » Wed Nov 18, 2020 2:23 pm

Team 3 in sig. I’m 9-1.

Would you give Chris Carson and Mike Williams for Diontae Johnson, a ‘22 2nd, and a ‘21 3rd?

I’ve traded away a lot of draft picks to put this team together, and think there’s probably more future value in DJ, but Mike Williams is hard to value.

I think you can afford to make this deal long term and still not hurt your chances this year.

Tough call, which makes me think it’s even. Nothing about CC says “future” to me. But those draft picks are big ?? too. DJ is a baller. I agree Williams is hard to value.

What’s your goal, run for the roses or futures? It’s a good deal for futures for sure. It’s unnecessary for a “win now”, imo. If i had pieces to deal i’d be looking QB if that was my team...

I’d like to win this year (1st in points and standings), but also recoup some future value. I don’t have any picks this year and no 1st in ‘22. I figure I’ve been ok without Carson the last few weeks and have Mostert coming back. Was leaning towards taking it.

I love Diontae as a talent, but i'll take the Carson and Williams side. Williams looks much better when Herbert is chucking him the ball, and Big Ben is near the end. Claypool isn't helping the Diontae value game either.

If you can afford to give up Carson, I take Diontae and picks here. Diontae had a solid year even with middle school QBs throwing him the ball in 2019. When healthy in 2020 hes been a WR1 target hog regardless of juju and Claypool.

This trade help a you maintain some of the value that Carson will inevitably lose as he nears the shelf life of NFL RBs. Again..only if you can afford to lose a RB.

Got a 2nd instead of the 3rd and pulled the trigger. Think the 2 2nds is enough ammo to get more pieces to Make a championship push.
