B. Cooks- hold or sell?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

B. Cooks- hold or sell?

Postby Badgersfan222 » Sat Nov 14, 2020 2:42 pm

What is everybody’s feeling on Brandon Cooks? (Team1)

I have a way overachieving 6-3 Team and I’m tempted to sell him but I also have D. Watson as my starter in our 1QB league. Are you selling or holding? What do you think?

There is obvious risk with Cooks, but this is heavily factored into his value when shopping him around.

At this point, I think he's a strong hold because his production value and potential future value FAR outweigh what you would get in a return.

Since the coaching change, he's been the overall WR9 (since week 5) and that is closer to his career norm than his injury riddled 2019. Id rather have a chance at that continuing on my roster than a 2nd, as I don't see anybody giving up a 1st for him right now

He is the definition of a sell for me. He is good, healthy Cooks right now. He has NEVER been able to maintain that. Get what you can and leave the carousel

Hes one of those always under appreciated but very consistent WR that ppl don't want to pay for.

Funny people keep saying he's not healthy cause he missed 2 games in the last 5 years!! and 4 out of 5 years hes been WR11-WR15.

After learning the new system and gaining reps with Watson, now looks to resume his consistent play.

Worth a 1st, but no one wants to pay it.

Contender: hold
Legit champ contender: buy (though you probably already have good/better options)
Rebuild: sell

Basically if he's factoring into your lineup as a contender I'd keep him around. If I had 3-4 other options ahead of him and was a legit championship contender I'd buy. If I was rebuilding id sell for a young promising wr.

Thats what I said, no one will pay that. But for contenders,, having guys that perform in the WR11-WR15 range consistent, can be the difference in a league win. Depends on your risk tolerance. He may end up as OP top 2 or 3 WR if he doesn't get injured but stays the same pace.

If rebuilding, hes a sure sell.

You'll never get what he's worth. There's been excuse after excuse every year for why Cooks won't produce. Now he's being compared to a guy who never caught over 60 passes or 700 yards.

Cooks has had 5 different seasons over 1000 yards on 3 different teams. I wouldn't be surprised if he gets there again this year. Easy buy for a contender. He's helped me to a few ships as a WR3 / flex

I’d take the deal for Reagor or the 2022 1st and feel great about either!
