Monster trade.

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

My boy and I covered this trade specifically on our podcast tonight and it started a solid discussion. Way too much to type, but long story short, I like the Jones + side, but this is a very complex deal and more going on than it looks for me.

I think it hurts you for this season if your trying to compete. Cooper too me will be better off with Dalton who seemed to target him more while he was playing. CMC getting a second opinion makes me think they are recommending shutting him down for the year. You are giving up a lot, but to land the best dynasty assets in CMC you need a overpay.

To me this is a weird deal:
Usually when I look to make trades this late in the season, one side is rebuilding, so they are looking for value for future years, and the other team is competing, looking to convert next years value to this year. For this trade there are pieces on both sides (the DAL WRs) that offer more of their value in the future due to Dak injury, and pieces on both sides (Jones/CMC) that offer significant value for this year (though with the new injury to CMC and CAR having a week 13 bye you could start to argue his value is mainly in future years, but him being able to score 30+ weekly is certainly good for this year). Then we have the question mark of Ekler, who if he is healthy can certainly provide value.

As a contender, I would rather keep the Jones side, and get the only healthy RB of the 3 listed and keep the enormous upside of Lamb.

Out of curiosity, what's the record of the other guy?

Jones + side for me too. Cooper has been a career second-half under-performer and that has been with relatively competent QB play compared to what he has now. His ROS value is low for me which makes the deal a little grosser.

yeah for a now contender, I stick with jones... if eklar comes back healthy, he could be a league winner for u.... getting cmc is nice for sure, but jones is pretty damn good and id way rather have lamb going forward then cooper

Haha that didn’t help me at all because I feel the exact same way. And cooper is so young I feel like he is a pretty good asset also. Ekler is just the biggest question mark. With jonathon Taylor and mostert as my main two remaining I think I might be thin on RB. But im not super high on cooper and would maybe look to turn him in to something else. What would his value be?
Thanks,
Nick

Well then. I'd take the deal, grab CMC. I think you're kind of damned if you do and damned if you don't. This seems cheap for the 1.01. it's going to hurt weeks 10 and 13, but maybe you can go out and grab a gurley or other vet rb with your open spot.

If you could somehow turn cooper into Chubb like you mentioned I would do that in a heartbeat

Chubb changes the whole dynamic on this trade and then I think it's a deal to make.
So what if it’s tyler Boyd for Chubb and I keep cooper? I think I like Boyd better than Chubb. That’s my problem with that
I'd do boyd for Chubb regardless of the other deal.
