Dobbins+ for Chubb

Postby Dominus » Thu Nov 05, 2020 11:25 pm

Hey everyone,

For the team in my signature I’ve been offered the following:

Give: Dobbins + 2022 1st
Get: Chubb + 2022 2nd

I think this might improve my team for this year, with Chubb coming back soon; especially since I have Hunt already.

My problem is, I’ve been so excited about Dobbins and I feel like he could start getting more opportunities at any moment.

How do you feel about Chubb vs Dobbins in a vacuum? Would you make this move for guaranteed startable RB depth this year?

Thanks for the help!

I have the same situation...slightly. I would not give a 1st. Chubb and Dobbins are almost the same. Once Chubb plays a few games, he will be ranked and worth more than Dobbins......this year. You are buying Chubb at a highpoint even though hes been injured and out.

No way I swap picks. I own Chubb and still haven't pulled the trigger on the below trade cause I value Chubb more cause hes easily one of the best RB's and shown it. Dobbins has shown very little and is a RBBC. Agree with the guy above, you should be sending Dobbins and a 2nd for Chubb and a 1st.

Send: Chubb & Edwards
Receive: Dobbins & Z. Moss, 2021 3rd
Team 1: 12 team, PPR, 25 Keepers

WR: McLaurin, Godwin, Higgins, J. Jefferson, Sutton, T. Boyd, Aiyuk, V. Jefferson, Mims, & G. Davis
TE: M. Andrews, Fant, Irv Smith Jr, H. Bryant (cle) & D. Parham

2021 Picks: N/A
2022 Picks: 1.xx, 2.xx, 2.xx, 2.xx, 4.xx

I would hold as of now and see how Dobbins progresses.

Agree. Too much risk. Would rather hold on Chubb AND the 1st. You'd be sending the two best pieces

Thanks for all the feedback!

It sounds like, in a vacuum, most people are saying they have Dobbins' value as higher than Chubb's.

Is that right? Is that due to talent, situation, injury risk, or what? I had actually assumed Chubb was worth a fair bit more than Dobbins originally (I'm horrible at evaluating my rookies who haven't done anything yet).

Talent, situation and age, for me. I don’t get too caught up in injury concerns. A history of soft tissue injuries can be concerning, but for the most part, I think the “injury prone” label tends to be more reactionary than anything. Football is a violent game. If you play it long enough, you’re gonna get hurt.

That said, I think Dobbins is just a much more well-rounded back. Chubb is a great pure runner, but his ceiling is capped due to his lack of involvement in the passing game.

Situation is pretty close to a wash. Both teams are very run-heavy. Hunt seems like stiffer competition for touches (and especially targets) than Edwards or Ingram, but Lamar is gonna vulture way more rushing TDs than Baker.

Dobbins being three years younger is what puts him over the top for me. Well, that and I’m not even sure it’s a slam dunk that Chubb outscores him ROS.
