Dobbins vs Jacobs

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Dobbins vs Jacobs

Postby Badgersfan222 » Wed Nov 04, 2020 5:59 am

This is for team 2. Our league has had a lot of different trade offers floating out there. I’m 6-2 and another team that is 5-3 seems like he’s trying to make a push and sent me this offer:

I send Jacobs
I get Dobbins, Z. Moss and early 2021 3rd

Is that enough? Jacobs has been pretty pedestrian so I don’t feel like it’s a huge downgrade. Thoughts?

i like dobbins' talent more, and his offense is better than jacobs'. but he will not get the same volume, most likely.
long term i'd do it, but may hurt you a lot this season.

Dobbins has had really good flashes of being a top RB but idk if Baltimore moves away from the RBBC next year which will hurt Dobbins.

Long term JKD here. Will it hurt this season?? Jacobs has just been ok this year. Is that him, the mess of the o-line with injuries, covid, bad i.v.'s??? I think I'm taking the deal here.

Give me Dobbins here. He has a ton of upside and I think Jacobs is good but does not have the same upside.

Dobbins has big upside, but I would still hold Jacobs here. If you think Moss takes over, go with the package.

Jacobs has been streakier than I'd prefer, and isn't super reliable week-to-week. He's been more likely to get you <10 points than >20 in any given week. I recently traded Mixon (and had been trying since the offseason to do so) because that sort of "production" is frustrating, and doesn't add as much to your chances to win as their name value might imply.

Having acquired Dobbins during our draft and Moss recently in a trade, I like both to potentially take over their respective backfields with at least one of them becoming a better weekly start than Jacobs.

I'm okay taking Dobbins+ here because you are dangerously thin at RB.
