Conner vs Robinson

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Conner vs Robinson

Postby dblj1199 » Fri Oct 30, 2020 8:22 am

I was able to add J Robinson (the #2 scoring fantasy rb this season....shocker ) and he has played well so far. He is getting all of the carries in Jax and has no real competition for reps there. Does he have a bright future??? Will they add rb's in the off season?? Will they land a top qb in the off season?? Will they blow up the entire coaching staff?? Too me he has a ton of uncertainty. I do like what he's doing now, but his playoff schedule for my league is week 15 @ Balt week 16 vs Chicago. So should I look to move him now? One owner who may be interested has J Conner. I own Snell, so if Conner does go down I'm covered with his handcuff. So I leave it to you, my fellow forum members, is Conner a upgrade, downgrade, hold????

Robinson and Conner are having productive years and both have somewhat uncertain futures. I trust Robinson more as of now due to health. It's a gamble either way especially with the playoff schedule, but I would probably hold.

x2. Both are a gamble so I'll take the younger and more productive one this year.

This is a tough one. I love Robinson for this year, but I don't think they're committed to him long term. I think Conner has a better chance to keep the starting gig, even though Robinson is more talented.

I'm going to go with Conner
Team 1: 10 TEAM PPR. 0.2 PPC 2QB 3RB 4WR 1TE 1FLEX 2IDP 1 D/ST 1K

Team 2: 12 Team PPR 1QB, 3RB, 4WR, 1TE, 1FLEX

I think Robinson is/has done enough to keep some sort of role in that backfield. He is incredibly young and is performing at a high rate in which you'd hope the RB you draft in the 1st-3rd rounds would. If he keeps this production up, I think it would be a complete waste of a pick if Jax drafts a RB on with a premium pick.

Give me Robinson here.
The Other Woman Dynasty League - 12 Team PPR (QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, TE, 2 Flex)
QB: Herbert, Lance, Stafford
RB: Bijan, Hall, Cook, Chubb, Mattison
WR: Adams, Hill, Hopkins, Robinson
TE: Waller, Engram
-
You’re in this for Life - 12 Team 0.5 PPR
(QB, 1 RB, 1 WR, TE, 3 Flex)

QB: Fields, Young, Richardson, Smith
RB: Bijan, Gibbs, A. Jones
WR: Metcalf, JSN, Addison, Q. Johnston, Mingo, Rice
TE: Kincaid, Mayer, Gesicki
2024 Picks - (x3) 1sts
-
Dynasty Addiction - 12 Team PPR /SF (QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, TE, 2 Flex, SF)
QB: Lawrence, Fields
RB: Bijan, Dobbins, Etienne, Walker
WR: AJ Brown, Godwin, Bateman
TE: Kittle

I'll eat my own presvious words, give me Robinson. He has performed at a level that would make it foolish for Jax to use any draft capitail at the position. They have SO many needs to fill beofre worrying about giving him competition
I am just a guy sharing some thoughts

Hey, it's ME - the president of the JRob fan club - the guy who has been touting him since the summer.

You already know where I stand. Look, there are maaaaaaaaaybe 9-11 RBs out there who you could argue have a more certain long term hold on their position. That's it. 9-11. Check for yourself. Start with the AFC East and right away you get a zero in the amount of RB's with more certain holds on their jobs. And it just continues from there.

James Conner is not one of them. If you feel the need to move JRob it has to be for someone better.

This is Robinson for me extremely easily. Conner I think is system dependent, performing in a system that makes any RB look great, and is an UFA at the end of the year. Not to mention the injury history.

Robinson has been producing and producing efficiently in a bad system that can really only get better, and that every other RB has struggled in. He's under contract for the next 3 years. He's my guy here.

I like Robinson long term. He is talented and should keep that job.

I don't venture into the Dynasty Advice section often but clicked this thread because I'd been considering this angle in a league a week or two ago. I don't recall seeing any of your posts about the backfield/player in the Dynasty Discussion thread.

Care to state your position on him as a prospect long term, or share a recent post where you went into that in depth?
