And ESPN called him a "matchups conscious, back-end QB1" in a writeup yesterday. I guess a step up from always calling him a QB2, but what's a guy gotta do?

Take out the "May not be Top shelf" part and I agree.killer_of_giants wrote: ↑Mon Oct 19, 2020 7:37 am the dude is a baller. may not be top shelf, but makes it up in guts and determination.
NFL wise he is Top Shelf.
Fantasy wise he looks to be a legit top 5-8 QB.

Seriously...if he isn't already in the MVP conversation, he probably should be. I know he's definitely behind Russ right now, but he's got to be top 5.Ice wrote: ↑Mon Oct 19, 2020 8:00 amTake out the "May not be Top shelf" part and I agree.killer_of_giants wrote: ↑Mon Oct 19, 2020 7:37 am the dude is a baller. may not be top shelf, but makes it up in guts and determination.

What he has done since becoming the starter is incredible on its own merit. Then you factor in that he was a salary dump and the Dolphins retained half of his salary last year. I just keep waiting for the bottom to fall out but I think it's time to just accept this version of Tanny until something changes. I would put him right behind Russ for MVP at this point in the season.

Re: Will Ryan Tannehill be a Starting NFL QB in 2020?
Well, I just keep getting this wrong.
No doubt that he looks the part of a QB1 and MVP Candidate. This offense is working perfectly for him and he's absolutely destroying defenses on play action with Henry on the field.
The crazy part is that Tannehill isn't even running much. Only 15 carries on the season. He's killing teams strictly from the pocket with good protection.

I still don't get it. Tannehill and the Titans offense really shouldn't be this good... but they are.

Defenses have to respect Henry, and AJB is an absolute stud. Plus Gase isn't the coach so Tannehill can be good.

I was wrong about Tannehill. It's great to see him get back on track after Gase torpedoed his development.
Dynasty player since 2002.
I probably should have done something more productive with that time...

And here I am going on about Josh Allen being elite for fantasy. He hasn't hit 17 in 3 weeks now! (16 3 consecutive weeks lol). I'm not sure if Tannehill will ever get the respect he deserves. The Brandon Cooks of QB... One day in the future, when he falls off, someone will be like "aha! I knew he wasn't that good!"Orenthal Shames wrote: ↑Wed Oct 28, 2020 4:39 pm Since taking over, Tannehill has scored < 17 fantasy points just twice.
Re: Will Ryan Tannehill be a Starting NFL QB in 2020?
It really might be a minute, though. He's throwing to a burgeoning top-5 dynasty receiver in AJ Brown, an emerging top 5 TE in Jonnu Smith, they have some of the best O-line talent in the league when healthy, and Derrick Henry is squarely in his prime and enabling this incredible efficiency by scaring every defense into an 8 man box.Jigga94 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 28, 2020 5:26 pmAnd here I am going on about Josh Allen being elite for fantasy. The only variable I would be wary of that could change - is actually Arthur Smith, the OC. He is going to be a popular HC candidate this offseason... the league has taken note of what he's been putting down on film.
Re: Will Ryan Tannehill be a Starting NFL QB in 2020?
That's a fair assessment. I'll throw in Corey Davis as a very competent WR2... I wonder how long Henry can last. People worry about the touches, age, etc. But the dude is huge. He may lose some breakaway speed but I could see him being fantasy relevant for a whilemild wrote: ↑Wed Oct 28, 2020 6:15 pmIt really might be a minute, though. Agree on Henry - he just needs to keep being a battering ram for a couple more years. It's not even the breakaway speed (though it's so awesome to see when he's in full flight) - it's that he sustains drives for them way over expectation.
