Trade talks started with group text saying Barkley available.
I asked if there were specific positions/age etc. he wanted in return (figured first was automatically in the deal)
Was told First and a great LB
I replied the ask was too low
This was the end result after a few offers and emails back and forth.

I'd be more excited for you if I hadn't owned Barkley each of the last two seasons. To be fair, he was instrumental in my championship after doing without him all year last year. Having it happen again this year was too much to bear and I sold him for Miles Sanders and Boston Scott after shopping him to the whole league for a week that was the best I could get.

I did that last year. Yes, he ended up having two big weeks that sealed the deal for me. I'm in win now mode (look at my roster) despite insane injuries and theres a non-zero chance our league folds after this year. When he went down for the year again right from the start I wasn't going to sit on his 0 all year for the 2nd straight season. I felt that getting a top 10 back for a guy who has been able to produce 2 games in 2 years seemed like a good move. Plus, everyone acts like Saquon is CMC but he really isn't. look at his game logs when healthy over the past two years.

I know he's not coming back but the talent is there. Sanders is arguably not even a top 10 RB while Barkley is STILL a top 5 RB even while hurt, and should be back to top 3 when healthy next year.

Barkley had 2,028 scrimmage yards, 91 receptions and 15 total touchdowns as a rookie playing for the Giants. 5.0 YPC. That is INSANE. CMC had 1,086 yards from scrimmage, 80 receptions, 7 TDs and 3.7 YPC as a rookie...not even close.

Barkley missed 3 games last year but obviously game back too soon and was playing hurt. Still averaged 111 yards from scrimmage for the season and was an absolute league winner in the fantasy playoffs with 30.3 and 43.9 point outings in the semis and finals, respectively. Oh and he still outscored Sanders who played all season and wasn't playing through a high ankle sprain for several games.

Also sure you're a contender but you didn't need to sell Barkley on the cheap. Guys like Gaskin, Gurley, Mike Davis, RoJo, Conner, and DJ could have been had much cheaper to fill in while Ekeler gets well or while Cook is out.

Meh, that's just your opinion. I owned him during all those stats you just mentioned and when the rubber met the road I was ready to sell. There's zero guarantee he will return to top 5 let alone top 3 or ever be the same after two major injuries. When we he was lost for the year, I decided if I could get a top 10 rb for him I'd sell and I got one. Sure, Sanders got hurt too so that's part of my insanely bad luck but I would submit that a healthy Sanders would be top 10 right now.

I had him in redraft last season. I know exactly what he was doing in those games and I remember wondering if I was right to trade for him. And then he won me the title. I traded MT for him right after the ACL in a rebuild and I'd do it again (although MT reinjuring himself and acting like a nutjob doesn't exactly make me feel worse about it).
