Even if you think AB is the nail on the coffin for Evans, now is a terrible time to sell. He's coming off a poor game, hes injurred, and the AB news.
He is an elite talent reciever and will have better days to sell in the future if you want to bail.
What to do with Mike Evans? Does he still have *ANY* value?

We're not talking about a fullback. We're talking about a guy with a fantastic track record. Re: What to do with Mike Evans? Does he still have *ANY* value?
Yes, but we can't ignore the fact that when Godwin is active he's actually the 3rd WR behind Scotty Miller. Long term I don't think anyone should be concerned about Evans. For whatever reason though Brady hasn't really gone his way a ton. Not something we can just brush off. The opportunity simply doesn't seem to be there when Godwin is active and his points are better than they should be this season due to a few TD catches.briank wrote: ↑Tue Oct 27, 2020 3:18 pmWe're not talking about a fullback. Re: What to do with Mike Evans? Does he still have *ANY* value?
Die-hard Bucs fan here...
The local media is all over the truth behind Evans' injury. Arians has been more open about it this week as he defends the AB signing.
Evans had a HIGH ankle sprain early in the season after already suffering a hamstring injury before the season opener. Both injuries are to the same leg. He is gutting it out as a DECOY right now as he is the receiver that always draws the top cover man from the other team and almost always draws safety help as well. This is a fact that Godwin benefits from greatly - as do the other receivers - which is why Evans is out there gutting it out.
Arians literally has said there are only a handful of cuts/routes that Evans can make effectively right now. He literally cannot run half the route tree right now because of his inability to cut hard due to the injury.
There are zero guarantees that he gets back to 100 percent this season. But - now we see Godwin is out again and AB can't play yet - so Evans has a shot to produce. The reason he doesn't produce when Godwin plays is he becomes a straight decoy right now knowing that Godwin can carry the load when only getting single coverage. Evans has to do more when Godwin is out.
Hopefully, now people can understand the AB signing. This is not about having 3 stud WRs on the field at the same time. Godwin and Evans are not anywhere close to 100 percent this season. This Monday night they'll have 1/2 an All-Pro out there. AB is the "insurance policy" to make sure they have a chance at having a fully healthy All-Pro on the field.
Lastly - you cannot let this warp your perception of Evans. It sucks for fantasy. But you bet your bleep he'll be back as a top 10-15 guy with upside week in and week out when healthy.

Re: What to do with Mike Evans? Does he still have *ANY* value?
Good post right here- Evans is still a top talent and you shouldn't ever trade a guy like this when his perceived value is low. I'm a lot less concerned now with Godwin being out again.cvbuc wrote: ↑Tue Oct 27, 2020 5:17 pm Die-hard Bucs fan here...

Re: What to do with Mike Evans? Does he still have *ANY* value?
I traded Evans + 1st next year for Robby Anderson, JuJu and Jeudy - but if you can't get depth in return - I'd hold, he has a decent fantasy playoff schedule
Re: What to do with Mike Evans? Does he still have *ANY* value?
Gonna add a bit here. Evans is being doubled on just about every play. Last year Winston wouldn't care, he'd sling the ball up and Evan would either grab it or the other team wouldcvbuc wrote: ↑Tue Oct 27, 2020 5:17 pm Die-hard Bucs fan here...

Brady though doesn't do that. If he sees a double team he goes somewhere else because othera will be more open. I'm hoping that Evans gets healthier and that AB makes teams play Evans more honest.
Regardless I don't see a reason to sell Evans his value is down but his tallent is still there. I'm probably going to look to acquire him this year and hope that Brady moves on or Evans is traded
