Tee Higgins

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Tee Higgins

Postby My BallZach Ertz » Mon Oct 26, 2020 2:39 pm

I’ve got an owner who is wanting to sell Higgins. I’m 6-1 for team one and would like to acquire him without destroying my chances at winning the title again. What gets it done that makes sense?

Higgins is in mid-first / 1st + 2nd range but I wouldn't be surprised to see someone hold out for more. Assuming this is team 2, comparable value guys on your roster include Julio and Lockett (although following the 50+ point game Lockett might garner a decent add on top of Higgins).

A 1st+. You could try picks alone, but not sure a team is going to sell a rookie WR that hit unless it's a significant overpay.

Julio probably won't get it done, but id start there. Add whatever picks needed.

Golladay would be option 2. If it's not a rebuilder, golladay may get it done.

Or sell a second contract RB and get higgins++. Mixon, cook, and zeke are all good sell candidates if you want to cash out.

Higgins is an early 1st for me and I still would not move him. He is going to grow with Burrow and already looks really good. I would ask the owner what the price is and go from there, cuts out all the guess work.

Yeah...I think his "market value" is mid-1st or 1st + 2nd, like I said above, but I personally wouldn't let go of my share for that. I think that the sheer quantity of rookies producing early this season is dampening value for some of them. If you take a step back and just look at this guy it's hard to conceive of letting him go for less than an early first (especially in non-SF leagues). Picked at the top of the 2nd round. Paired with Joe Burrow for the foreseeable future. 21 years old. Heir-apparent to an aging AJG (very similar height/weight/speed). After going without a target in week 1 and 3/35 in week 2, his previous 5 outings equate to a 16 game pace of 76.8/1200/9.6 on 118.4 targets.

But OP is buying not selling, so he should be shooting to acquire him for less, and if Higgins is on the block in his league it's possible he could be gotten for less than I would sell for.

With just 3rds I don't see a realistic path to acquire him unless you are willing to deal away one of your studs. Your bench players don't move the needle and the rest of your players are legitimate stars so I would need to return Higgins/1st which is a price most teams probably wouldn't pay.

I think you try to move Golladay. By next year or for sure 2022, Higgins will easily bypass Golladay. I'd rather have his youth with Lamb to balance out your team. Maybe you consider moving Cook with Mattison to sell it to him as a "RB foundation" and try to get Higgins and an RB2 back. Just some thoughts but you have some options. I would move to get him. I think you'd regret it this time next year if you dont.

Higgins is a hard contender bye, he has shown up the last few weeks and most rebuilding teams wouldn’t have a reason to sell without it being an overpay based on potential.
