My RBs Are Dead (Barkley Trade?)

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

My RBs Are Dead (Barkley Trade?)

Postby Heartwork » Wed Oct 21, 2020 6:21 pm

From my team I have lost Barkley, Chubb, Sanders. I'm starting Brian Hill and JaMycal Hasty this week.... Should I try and trade Barkley for Swift and a 1st or Swift and Arob? Are those offers to light or should I just hold and play for next year? I think my team is good but I don't know if I can make a run again. I'm currently stitting at 3-3 and I was .3 points away from 4-2. :(

I'm not the biggest Swift fan. I would say this is a bit light. Swift has had a few good games sure, but Barkley is a top 2-3 RB when healthy. If you are looking to deal, I would side with the Swift and ARob for Barkley, but still too light IMO.

If you are looking for a cheap RB to grab, I would look for a Gaskin, Gibson, McKissic type guy. I can't seem to give them away in leagues I'm in, yet they seem to put up worthwhile numbers that should hold you over till Chubb/Sanders return.

I would hold Barkley, stay put with a strong build and see what happens. Worse comes to worse, you have Barkley next year.

Hold Barkley unless you get something crazier like get Swift + 2x 1st (top half). I wouldn’t seek a trade though, you just had bad luck on Barkley and Chubb.

I think I’m on the other side of it, especially for the Swift/AROB deal, I would rather have that over Barkley. I know he’s a great talent and I’m holding him in some leagues but I’m not afraid to move him for a good package because he will be a year older and it’s iffy that the Giants o-line or offense in general will be that much better next season.

I'd move him for that. The Giants look awful, and I'm starting to question his durability, one more injury next year and his value is going to drop through the floor. On the other hand, a good season next year and you could be regretting this. Either way I think Swift will be good assuming Patricia uses him in Detroit, don't put it past Detroit coaching to give Swift 6 carries this week.

Your team is solid, but just crushed by injuries. So I'm looking to either ride this out and go for it in 2021 with your roster. Or you could sell off your bigger asset, healthy asset in DHop. So this will do a few things. You should be able to get a BIG return, young players and picks. Second it helps your team "tank" giving you a higher 2021 draft pick. I'd float it out to the league that you may deal DHop and see what kind of offers you are getting, if they aren't going to "overpay" somewhat ( maybe offers go up with multiple teams in the mix ) then I'd simply hold and play it out for 2021.
