Is this the best 0-4 start ever for a rookie QB? The Chargers keep losing, but he keeps looking better. It’s really weird.

Per Warren Sharp:

Justin Herbert LEADS THE NFL when pressured in adjusted completion rate and efficiency.

Better than Russell Wilson, Patrick Mahomes, Aaron Rodgers, etc.

Was thinking the same. Only the Chargers could have this mojo going.

He's played 4 games in the NFL, and all 4 have been far better than any game I saw him play in college, he looks like a completely different player.

Very different system with vastly superior talent around him. This team lets him throw a lot.

Herbert seems to like throwing the NFL Ball better for sure even though it is more narrow and longer than the college ball. The NFL ball is suppose to be harder to throw but it sure doesn't look it with him.

He also exels at seeing the field with the more centered hash marks even though they are designed to help defenses disguise schemes.

Whatever it is he sure is fun to watch. His future looks really bright.

His current 16 games pace is 4800 yards and 36 TDs passing.

Obviously he won't keep that up but wow, can't recall a rookie QB start this good since Cam/RG3.

They going to count that one to Williams where nobody covered him? Dennis Allen's play calling has been baffling tonight. Well, not really, I saw him as the Raiders HC. Herbert has looked good, but I will say I don't think Dennis Allen knows what he's doing at all. Chargers seem to always figure out how to lose. We'll see if the kid can take them down for the win, here.
Imagine if they keep losing all these relatively close games. They have all thier picks plus an extra 3rd. They may be able to move down a bit in the first round and get even more picks. Team may finally start getting a fanbase.

That would be something. This team has a lot of talent and a lot of injuries. Would be nice to see them get an actual fan base. They are one of the best teams to watch play.

Chargers have had talent for what seems like a couple decades now. The two big things holding them back have always been 1) abysmal organizational leadership, and 2) inability to close out games over and over and over. Nothing new to see here - but yeah, still enjoy watching their games, that's been true for a while.

They generally have a ton of injuries to their best players too.

A little off topic, but this is a pretty fascinating breakdown of how the Chargers managed to pull off the unthinkable in 2010. They had the best offense AND defense in the league and STILL somehow missed the playoffs.

Yup, thought he looked like the very definition of a bust coming out. I’m not gonna say he’s for sure good now but he’s looked far better than I ever thought he would and has done some impressive things.

Another week, another 300 yds and 3 Tds. Sure, it's the Jags, but he's making nobody's look like somebody's.
