Week 5 Survivor
4 weeks down, another 13 to go! Teams used so far: BUF, SF, IND & LAR.
Week 5 looks like one of the tougher weeks so far.
Leaning towards ARI over a disaster of a NYJ team this week but ARI hasn't looked good since week 2.
Other options I'd consider:
BAL over CIN (tough week in week 6 makes me want to save BAL for then)
KC over LV
NE over DEN (only if Cam plays)
PIT over PHI
SEA over MIN
Who's everyone taking?

Re: Week 5 Survivor
NE or Balt..I never save teams for later, unless it is a true tie breaker. That's how I lose in Survivor.

Re: Week 5 Survivor
I almost always shy away from divisional games. They almost always seem like trap games. There are some exceptions, but they more than not come out to be nail biters that I don't like chancing.Fantasyfanatic11 wrote: ↑Thu Oct 08, 2020 9:22 am 4 weeks down, another 13 to go! That being said your lock is ARI vs NYJ. NYJ is starting Flacco, has Bell coming back, and should be revamped...but they're still the Jets.
If you wanted to play with fire DAL vs NYG seems like a decent lock too, but those darn divisional games!!!! (probably jinxing myself in all my pick em leagues)
Re: Week 5 Survivor
Arizona vs NYJ, you'll probably have to use them eventually and this is likely the best opportunity to do so.

Re: Week 5 Survivor
If you took Buffalo this week & the game is forfeited ... I assume that would count as a win in a Survivor Pool, right?

Re: Week 5 Survivor
My general formula for these is:
1. In small pools, (<20 people) don’t bother saving teams unless it’s genuinely a tie-breaker. In massive leagues, I think it’s more reasonable to try to think ahead because the league is likely to go deeper into the season, but even then I think it’s better to just focus on winning this week.
2. Sort by the Vegas lines.
3. Avoid taking divisional matchups or road teams.
4. Don’t pick against a team with advantages at both HC and QB.
Why isn’t NO, an 8 point favorite at home, an option? Pittsburgh is also a decent option.

Re: Week 5 Survivor
Even with 70% of the bets on the bucs, the line has moved in their favor. That seems fishy to me. Also bucs have packers on deck, they can very well be looking ahead to them. This seems like a trap to me. If you like living on the edge, then go for it.

I wouldn’t take a road team on a short week in survivor.GrillMeister wrote: ↑Thu Oct 08, 2020 1:04 pmEven with 70% of the bets on the bucs, the line has moved in their favor. That seems fishy to me. I think they’ll win but I think it will be close. The Bears have a decent defense and the Bucs are so banged up and on a short week too. I think you could find a better team to use this week.

Re: Week 5 Survivor
I'm rolling with KC
Re: Week 5 Survivor
Arizona picks could be in some jeopardy, Jets might have a positive Covid test.
Re: Week 5 Survivor
I'm leaning towards Dallas ... if they cant win at home vs the Giants I don't know when they will
