He will probably be the Jets next coach.
And GM, and play-caller extraordinaire too if BOB gets his way.

Just having a little fun. This move was long overdue.

Looks like Vrabel might be the only successful ex-NE coach?

Vrabel never coached in NE. I think Flores is going to be good and has already been phenomenal considering the circumstances.

I’m not sure O’Brien is a terrible coach or play-caller (I don’t think he’s great either), but he’s absolutely an abysmal GM, and a great illustration of the fact that the skill sets of GMs and HCs are disparate, and having one guy do both jobs is a bad idea.

Some people (BB) can do both very well, but they’re exceptions. I’m not sure why a team would ever think that the guy responsible for things like play calling, teaching football skills, developing a scheme, preparing for an opponent, managing personalities, etc, should also be responsible for contract negotiations, salary cap management, scouting, trading, etc. There’s no other sport in the US where this is the norm. Mercifully right now I believe it’s just down to BB and Ron Rivera. I like Ron Rivera the coach, but I have no idea if he’s up to the task of being a GM.

So where are all those people insisting that BOB might know more than the fantasy public? That those awful trades actually weren’t so bad... Welcome to reality.

This is why I'm mining the Jets WR corps. Some young'n could secure a lead role for next and then get Lawrence/Fields at QB. Pair him with Bienemy too?! Hell yeah.

"A source tells me that JJ Watt and Bill O’Brien had a heated exchange on the practice field the week of the Steelers game in which JJ called BOB out for his coaching ability. It began a player revolt that ended up getting BOB fired."

https://mobile.twitter.com/AaronWilson_ ... 6808436737

"Bill O'Brien got into an argument with defensive end J.J. Watt and defensive coordinator Anthony Weaver on the practice field along with verbal altercations with other staff members during his final weeks as coach-general manager before being fired, according to league sources"
