I hope you're right.

I asked the same question in the PIT/TEN thread but I'll post here as well since it might be different people seeing the thread.

What do we do with the points from games that are moved?
Are they wiped from this week, lumped into whatever week they're moved to? Just treated as an unexpected BYE week?
Correct. That was part of my COVID plan, at least, for leagues I commish.
Most likely Week 4 will now be the byes for both teams, and the rest of their schedule will be adjusted to accommodate a makeup game. But who knows exactly what will happen, especially if the titans are still unable to play their week 5 game.

Hopefully this is a dick-punch for the rest of the NFL’s players, staff, production crew, and their families to take their bubbles seriously.

C’mon idiots, you get paid great money to play for a few months. Home school your kids, use delivery for groceries, and don’t go out socializing. It’s not that hard to do especially when you’re compensated nicely for it

Prison_Mike wrote: Thu Oct 01, 2020 6:48 am Does anyone else fear that the PIT/TEN situation could be the first of many dominoes to fall and that it could bring the whole thing down? Or do you think this is more of an isolated incident that will have minimal impact on the rest of the season?

Maybe I'm overreacting, but I've been skeptical from the beginning. It's not like the NBA where they're playing in a bubble.
That is the fear, of course - but I think this could be more like the situation with the Marlins in the MLB where the coaches now have a very easy example to point to - "We don't want to be Tennessee" - and efforts will be redoubled to distance/mask and make this thing work.

NFL coaches being the hardasses that they are, I can't see them not using this opportunity to remind their men that they have TWO opponents this year... the next team, and the virus.

Except Gruden. He doesn't give a fuuuuuuuu-

"The NFL has strengthened its COVID-19 protocols following this week's Titans outbreak.
The league has adopted a number of enhanced measures, including daily "point of care testing." All meetings must now be virtual, while PPE/face masks must be "worn on field by players and staff at all times." All players except quarterbacks must also wear gloves, and there can be "no team or player gatherings away from facility." These are more than just symbolic "COVID theater" measures, and speak to how worried the league is about runaway outbreaks amongst its players and personnel. Most of these measures are draconian and unfortunate, but that is going to be life for the NFL if it wants the 2020 season to proceed with as few disruptions as possible.

Well then... That's some large small correction. I'm suddenly disappointed again...

Atleast it expressly states no player gatherings football related or not

two more titans players (unnamed) have now tested positive. Week 5 may be up in the air, or at a minimum we may see the titans play without some of its players available. Time wise, if they do quarantine, those that do test negative prior to the week 5 game (especially if that one is pushed back to Monday/Tuesday) should be in the clear. Otherwise, it will be interesting to see what the NFL does to reschedule that one game.

The most likely scenario. That's if there are no more positive tests through the weekend. The postponement of another game is more problematic than the Titans missing some players. This was always going to happen. I believe they have the COVID list for this eventuality, in part. The Titans will be shorthanded, by the looks of it.
