Evans at 29 will likely be a fading asset at the tail end of his prime. Probably still very good for at least another 1-3 seasons, but there's a high chance that 23 year old Jefferson will be more valuable.

This is going to be a hindsight thing, when I play I don't look 2 years into the future because you will always be doing that.

2 years Jefferson will be 23, then you can say some 21 year old will be more valuable in 2 years and so on.

When you're rebuilding you should really have a rough idea of when you can realistically be in contention and plan based on that. If you're planning to acquire Evans to hold him until your window opens 2 years from now, then his production over the next 2 years isn't really doing anything for you (other than hurting your rookie draft order). So it makes sense to consider his value at 29.

Part of rebuuilding is gaining value. Evans is a better piece than Jefferson. Period. If Jefferson hadn't just gone off this wouldn't even be a question. I don't make dynasty decisions based on one game.

Part of rebuuilding is gaining value. Evans is a better piece than Jefferson. Period. If Jefferson hadn't just gone off this wouldn't even be a question. I don't make dynasty decisions based on one game.

It's not really a value gain for a rebuild if you can't flip him for a profit, which is not a guarantee for every owner in every league in a straight up deal as it essentially requires a rebuilding team to do a second deal to realize the gain. Jefferson going off last week is a valid reason to move him up from 56, not just because of that week's production, but because it puts to bed any questions about his starting position in that offense. Seriously look at some of the players above Jefferson in August ADP and tell me you would still have him below those players today.

The deal OP ended up doing allows them to sell Evans well below market value and still gain value.

Why can't Evans be flipped to a contender for picks and/or younger talent? This is only a consideration in a dynasty league where no trades happen, which wouldn't be a very fun dynasty league.

Yeah I'd be content with like...Lamb + 1st for him. That would net out to Lamb and 2 firsts for Jefferson + 2nd, which is NUTS at this point.

I don't suggest it, but as cheap as you got him you could sell for Lamb or Jeudy straight up and still be way ahead. good job.
