I just sent out offers for Akers. If somebody wants to sell a RB who was known throughout the whole draft process to be raw but athletic after two games without a preseason, full camp, etc., I’ll buy.
To my novice eyes, dude has no vision. Not sure that is coachable

Buy buy buy!

Optically, he didn't look good running up the middle, but the strength they were talking about with him was his pass catching and ability to get in space. Let's see more than a 1 or 2 game sample.
But isn't that also where Henderson's strength is? Putting him in space and catching ability?

I'm sure they aren't, but that doesn't mean they have to be sold on Akers either. Both have a ? Mark and likely part of a committee. I am still not buying him at a mid 1st where he was drafted. Late 1st or 2nd and I'll buy low...but owners wouldn't be selling low yet.

My only point is it is way too soon to make sweeping conclusions on him as a prospect. Three games in with significant playing time is enough for a first impression and then we leave the rest of the year for development. If by year 2 he isn't consistently producing, abandon ship.

Agree in principal, but the problem with trying to sell in year 2 is that he’ll be worthless by then. It essentially happened to Henderson but he’s rehabbing because he has talent and just lacked opportunity. If Akers continues to get lead usage and doesn’t improve quickly he will lose all of his value. Getting supplanted by Henderson/Brown would only make it worse.

It would shock me if he lost all of his value by the end of the year. He will get his opportunity, but he can't just be in a committee position, as he needs to develop and get a better feel for the position in the NFL with at least a hot hand approach. If he's coming in on passing downs, I don't see how he ever becomes the back he was drafted to be.

Great point and true, but that does not make Akers a better player than Henderson.

I'd like to throw a nod to Lamical Perine...the pot is warming after last week's taste and he just logged a full practice yesterday. The opportunity is there

Yeah, threw a dart at the "Good (or at least better?) Perine" too. Not likely to hit in that freaking cesspool, but whatever. Honestly, I had no shot at any good backs this year in my rookie draft (top 6 were gone by the time I took Jeudy, and I hated the next tier of backs) so this is what I've had to resort to... total dart throws at fiery dumpsters! :P

Thoughts on Zack Moss?

Buy Low or stay away?

Haven't watched much of the Bills besides Allen's highlights

Depends upon where the owner drafted him, I’d think. Owners who drafted him higher saw a talented runner with a well balanced game who has showed traits of being able to play at the NFL level. It’s clear BUF’s coaches like him are going to get him work every week. Those guys - like me - are probably not going to part with him easily.

Guys who got him later might be seeing his workload shared with not only Singletary but also Allen and see a lower cap on production, and now he’s hurt as well. They might be willing to take something to recoup and roll the dice with another player or future draft pick.

I think you’d have to open with a future 2nd to see where it goes. I don’t think a 3rd will get it done, and unless you know your team is locked into a deep run in the playoffs and you feel really good about Moss that a 1st is going to be too rich.

Agreed. He’ll get a chance to show out the rest of the year with Sutton out, including when Lock returns. As highly touted as Jeudy was coming out, he just doesn’t do what Hamler does and that is valuable. Was just able to get him and Lock for Cousins + C. Davis in a league where I’m in a hard rebuild.

I just sold him in a deal to get Ruggs. Glad to do it. I like Hamler OK, but not a fan of the Broncos QB situation, and Jeudy and Fant will demand targets. I think he has added value in best ball right now.
