Bought low on AJ brown on tuesday...talk me off the ledge

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Bought low on AJ brown on tuesday...talk me off the ledge

Postby confined9991 » Thu Sep 17, 2020 4:13 pm

I play in a 1PPR 10 Team dynasty league with bonus points for 40 yard completions, and additional bonus points for 40 yard touchdowns. I know that AJ Brown is one of the premier YAC/Deep play guys in the league, I figured I would sell Calvin Ridley high after week 1, one of his touchdowns was a fluke, right? So I offer Calvin Ridley to the AJ Brown Owner straight up, and he accepts. Now it comes out he has a knee injury I have immediate buyers remorse. Do you think I got hosed? Short Term? Long Term?

BTW my other WR's are Davante Adams, Mike Evans, Stefon Diggs, Keenan Allen, CeeDee Lamb, and Parris Campbell

Short term I'm guessing Ridley has him beat. ATL is just such a good offense and AJB is dinged up. Long term I'll still take AJB

I am a tad lower on AJB than most, I'd rather have Ridley
I am just a guy sharing some thoughts

Ridley for me as well, but I don't think you got hosed or anything. I think it's preference. Obviously ATL has the better passing offense right now, but they also have Julio in the way for Ridley, so I think it's a wash come next year.

AJ Brown is significantly more talented, had a rookie season better than either of Ridley's first two with a worse QB situation and can actually be a WR1, so I prefer him in dynasty

I feel like Ridley has been very productive. For example more productive than DJM on a per game basis but everybody loves DJM but seem low on Ridley. Get the age difference but think Ridley is underrated and about to break out.

I have AJB And he is probably more talented but his low volume passing offense worries me. Volume is king so I’d go Ridley due to scheme.

I think Ridley is generally perceived as being a bit of a boom/bust guy. DJM also has the best season between the two (and yes age is a significant factor in DJM's value...he's more than 2 years younger than Ridley).
