My first thought wasnt about him. It was about Josh Jacobs maybe actually getting passing down work.

Good news for Jacobs. Interesting move for the fins. Think it gives them another slot guy

He was having a bad camp, and was not fitting in to what they had planned for him. He wasn't transitioning well, and his pass blocking was atrocious ((he had never done it). It's too bad, the Raiders really wanted him, but it appears it was not working out. I think they made the assessment that he wasn't going to transition the way they though, and they got out.

That's my thinking. I think he plays slot and maybe a little wildcat. Perhaps he gets some carries if Breida gets injured.

He will. They will use Jacobs more, though. I would also not be surprised if they get Washington back. I think he's better than Booker.

Raiders had 92 receptions go to RBs last year, I think 60/40 split in Jacob's favour is well within reach, especially since they drafted Jacobs to be a workhorse 3 down back

Yeah, looks like it's back to WR for Bowden. Everyone who drafted him as an RB must be thrilled.

Can we talk about how astronomically dumb this move is?

They drafted Bowden in the 3rd. Reportedly he was awful in camp and now they trade a 6th round pick with him for a 4th.

Sure, credit for admitting a sunk cost and getting out while you can, but bleep woof.

So, I think this is terrible for Bowden who I own in 1 league. But I think this is great for the Raiders. Learning to move on quickly and take a sunk cost is part of being successful in my opinion. No one makes the right decision 100% of the time, but the earlier you can admit that and move on (and in some cases recoup value) the better you are.

He wasn't going to make the 53. They misjudged a draft pick. They moved off it, at minimal cost. It was a miss at the pick, without losing all it's value. I don't see it as astronomically dumb. As a Raiders fan, I never liked the pick, that much. However I actually prefer this move, rather than holding on to a guy who isn't going to work for your team. Teams miss on picks all the time. They thought he could be a RB, and it wasn't happening, but he was also not doing well as a returner. He wasn't adapting at all to the NFL speed. He wasn't worthy of a spot on the 53. You're going to miss sometimes. He was a high risk prospect, because he didn't specialize at anything, and they misjudged what he could do a pick up. They lost about a round in draft value, when all is said and done. They missed on that pick. It won't make or break the franchise.
