Big Rebuild- First Steps?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Big Rebuild- First Steps?

Postby brawnylad » Thu Sep 03, 2020 4:52 pm

I’ve been playing in a 10 team, shallow league with some friends for a few years. The owners are a mix of more serious and less serious. I haven’t been all that involved, and my team has drifted way down the standings. So I signed up for DLF to learn and build up my FF skill.

Our draft is next Thursday, 9/10. Looks like I’m in a 3+ year rebuild. Team is in signature below.

1) Strategy/Tips for the rebuild of this team?

2) Are there any players on my roster I should try to trade before the draft vs. in-season?

3) I have a received a trade offer to give 1.03 for DJ Moore. I would probably take Dobbins at 1.03 otherwise. Pull the trigger?

Any thoughts are appreciated.

I give the slight edge to DJ Moore. I'm a big fan though. If you're this close to draft and NFL season, you could try to get a little more.

I would make the deal for Moore as he is a great pillar to build around. I would hold Marquise Brown and possibly Williams (depending on offers) and make literally everyone else available. As I always say, stay patient and make smart deals and dont rush your rebuild. Enjoy it!

Sell anyone and everyone aging. Guys like Ertz and Woods aren't going to help you win games 3 years from now and they won't help you lose now because they are still producing. Flip everyone for youth and picks. Anything you can get for some QB as none of them are particularly good for your league

Take DJM for the early first. He's a guy I built 2 rebuilds around myself.

Good Stuff Guys. That’s helpful. Our league is top heavy with 2 guys always Up there in the standings.. In time I’d like to bump them off the hill for a change.

As stated above.

Take the DJ deal (try to squeeze a pick from him as well first).

Ok, on the trade, I floated the idea to the other owner that I wanted to bundle in Mark Ingram with the 1.03. This way he would have the entire Baltimore backfield. So here is the updated offer from him:

I Give: 1.03 , Mark Ingram

I Get: D.J. Moore, 1.09, 2.10

How does this look? I'm thinking its a decent trade.
