Jacksonville backfield, who is the guy?
Jacksonville backfield, who is the guy?
This is shaping up to be an ugly RBBC, but hey why not discuss who has any unseen upside here right?
Chris Thompson - pass catching back, loved by Gruden but cant stay healthy.
Ryquell Armstead - big back at 220lbs, impressive 40 yard dash, the only back left with actual draft capital spent by team, been on covid list for most of camp
Devine Ozigbo - biggest back technically at 222lbs, horrible 40 but other metrics look good, UDFA, has looked good in camp
James Robinson - rookie UDFA, about same size as Armstead at 219lbs, not great 40 but his other workout metrics are very impressive, has looked the best in camp running the ball
So who is the stash people are going for? The cheapest is Robinson, then Ozigbo, Armstead and last Thompson. (at least from what ive seen FAAB dropped on each player). At cost I think I like Robinson the best, and the camp reports on him have been great. Hes worth a stash on a deep roster since hes the likeliest to be available.

I'd say a big mish mash of nothingness. In other words, week to week it will be different, infuriating, and difficult to predict, and the upside will be minimal, on top of that.

Re: Jacksonville backfield, who is the guy?
As I stated in the Fournette thread after Fournette was sent packing, I think Ozigbo is the most well rounded of the RBs. He has solid vision, patience and burst, can run with power when needed but has enough speed to run outside, and has decent hands, 4.54 is plenty fast for a guy his size. Plus at Nebraska he also lined up in the slot and outside occasionally, so he has positional versatility. He has had a very good camp.
Re: Jacksonville backfield, who is the guy?
His 40 time is a 4.70, not sure where you getting 4.54 40.Bronco Billy wrote: ↑Wed Sep 02, 2020 8:38 pm As I stated in the Fournette thread after Fournette was sent packing, I think Ozigbo is the most well rounded of the RBs. Re: Jacksonville backfield, who is the guy?
I’d take whoever is cheapest. Thompson is an emergence option in PPR for contenders only, but I doubt you want to pay what anyone wants at the moment. I’ll take Robinson because he’s cheapest and just to have a chance. Certainly wouldn’t expect more than a week or two of opportunity and probably sell on any hype that generates given I don’t expect much long term from any of them.
Re: Jacksonville backfield, who is the guy?
Robinson is a total lottery ticket, but I'll take him as well. His production last season was insane, you don't see that often.
12-team SF, PPR, TE premium, 0.25 PPCarry
1QB 2RB 2WR 1TE 1SF 4Flex
QB: Mahomes, Fields, Love
RB: Bijan, ETN, Pollard, Achane, Herbert
WR: Kupp, Hill, Metcalf, Ridley, Jeudy, D.J. M, Burks, Hollywood, Wan'Dale
TE: Kyle Pitts, Goedert
Re: Jacksonville backfield, who is the guy?
Avoid them all, deep stash maybe Robinson but I wouldn’t anticipate too much.

Re: Jacksonville backfield, who is the guy?
Pro day, I think. Of course everybody knows a 4.54 at a pro day is not the same as at the combine. If he ran a 4.54 at the pro day, he's more of a 4.6 guy. PlayerProfiler won't substitute a combine time for a pro day time on their site, for obvious reasons of decreased accuracy, and the reality that pro day times are almost always faster due to the the studies they did on it.Bot101 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 02, 2020 8:56 pmHis 40 time is a 4.70, not sure where you getting 4.54 40.Bronco Billy wrote: ↑Wed Sep 02, 2020 8:38 pm As I stated in the Fournette thread after Fournette was sent packing, I think Ozigbo is the most well rounded of the RBs. He ran a 4.65 at his pro day, so when you adjust the hand time its 4.70

Not sure why you are harping on this or cannot Google it: You literally solicited peoples opinions on him and are griefing someone that gave theirs.

I picked him up for nothing so I am not as concerned about his track speed a year ago. People should not pick him up if they have better options.

This report is consistent with every other pro day report I’ve seen. His game tape backs up his speed. Curious where you got 4.7. He wasn’t invited to the combine. That’s a whole story in itself.Bot101 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 02, 2020 8:56 pmHis 40 time is a 4.70, not sure where you getting 4.54 40.Bronco Billy wrote: ↑Wed Sep 02, 2020 8:38 pm As I stated in the Fournette thread after Fournette was sent packing, I think Ozigbo is the most well rounded of the RBs. andDuring his pro day, Ozigbo impressed scouts with his showing, as well as his stature. His 40-yard dash time was clocked in around 4.54 seconds and he put up 19 reps on the bench press (225 pounds). Ozigbo also posted a 37-inch vertical jump.
Ozigbo (5’11/222) operated as a committee back for three seasons before exploding as a 2018 senior for 155/1,082/12 (7.0 YPC) rushing with 23 catches. Per PFF College, Ozigbo gained first downs or scored a touchdown on a Big Ten-high 34% of his 2018 carries. Still snubbed for a Combine invite, Ozigbo shined at his Pro Day with 4.54 speed and explosive vertical (37") and broad (10’4") jumps. A rich man’s C.J. Anderson, Ozigbo combines plus footwork for a big man with all-purpose versatility and a knack for breaking tackles on inside runs. Despite his lack of pre-draft fanfare, Ozigbo offers NFL starter potential.

Im not "harping" on anyone for their opinion. If he is available I would pick him up if you have a free bench spot. I merely said Robinson is the cheapest of the group and the likeliest to be available. I personally let others blow big FAAB on Thompson and Armstead and swooped in on Robinson for free in multiple places. Ozigbo went for a modest FAAB price.
Re: Jacksonville backfield, who is the guy?
Armstead will be the thumper and Thompson will be the 3rd down back. Once Thompson gets hurt it will be Armstead.
The other two are lumbering camp bodies so arguing about slow and slower is pretty pointless.

I’m not saying that you are wrong and cannot cherry pick results to support your point. You asked where he got his information from and it took me 20 seconds to find articles that supported what he said.Bot101 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 03, 2020 6:17 amI did Google itThe GM wrote: ↑Thu Sep 03, 2020 1:47 amNot sure why you are harping on this or cannot Google it: You literally solicited peoples opinions on him and are griefing someone that gave theirs.

I have no feeling either way but personally I find the 40 times less relevant than opportunity and good reports. Auden Tate and Tyler Johnson are guys I have interest in that are sloooooow by NFL receiver standards but I believe they can ball. Unfortunately Tyler Johnson is missing camp time and may never get that chance. Tate should at least have an opportunity to shut me up.
