In a 1 QB 16 team league (with return yardage points), the deal was my Lockett and Fournette for his 1.05, 2.05, Mattison. It felt fair at the time and a twitter poll had it 65% to 35% in his favor, but now it just feels gross. I think I’m going to offer to him to largely undo the trade. I already made the picks this past weekend but I’m sure he’d be happy with my picks haha. Ugh goddammit. My team is just obnoxiously stacked to ungodly proportions after this draft and it won’t hurt me.

Anyone else ever feel bad about winning a trade too badly and actually undone it for the sake of a clear conscience? Stories?
Events after a trade happen are just good fortune. As a Commish of a league, it sucks when it happens to a weak team that you worry will have its confidence and league attachment broken, but thats just for league continuity purposes and because a replacement could have to be found. You want continuity and some degree of parity. Beyond that, I wouldn’t feel bad at all. That’s what dynasty is about getting ahead of the curve and reaping the rewards.

Ultimately, you win some of these and you lose some. I wouldn’t feel bad, that’s the breaks, and the long term outcome is still much to be determined. Plus, as you stated, you ‘lost’ the deal to begin with and he didn’t feel bad. He’s got to suck it up and hope for a good landing spot with Fournette from
Here.

So your friend won the trade to begin with, and now he is slightly losing it and you feel gross? Settle down lol.

Now if you traded him LF for 1.1 and 1.2 10 days ago you should feel gross but this trade (before and after) does not reach this level. Also, would you do this for any other team in the league? If not then there could be a case for collusion if you trade back with your friend.

You lost value on the initial trade and it's more fair now that he was cut

Im in a couple leagues with this, Lockett is a legit top 10 WR1 and has been the past three years and has #1 overall WR upside in that format. Even with you not giving up LF i'd argue I might want Lockett over the other side on his own.

But his team is just sooooo good and stacked beyond human comprehension. I don't know how the rest of league even sets a lineup

Some people have floated the idea that Fournette could take the year off since he will not be getting the contract he wants. I think that is going to hurt him even more. There will be another crop of rookies coming in next year that will command less money than Fournette wants. He really is in a tough spot. Maybe he is content with the money he has made and just hangs it up? Most players don't go that route, but I don't see how he is going to make much money at all over the next few years. Really a horrible year to be in a contract situation for a running back.

When does he clear waivers (if no one claims him) and become a FA?

It's like the Bell situation, but with a dozen RB hitting the market in a year where the cap is likely to go down. Could be hazardous for all the RB out there, not just LF

It will be, 100 percent. It's a "buyers" market next year.

Today @ 4PM.

He's only on a $4 million salary, and if he signs with a different team next season, any team that acquires him this year will receive a compensatory 2022 pick. I expect him to be picked up via waivers because of this.

But I also didn't expect him to be cut in the first place.

Wednesday, I believe. I have heard a few rumors that CHI QB coach John Defillipo (who was JAX OC last year) was said to be talking to CHI higher ups and willing to put his reputation on the line to put in a waiver claim on Fournette.
