Re: Kamara Holdout?
Cook, Mixon and Kamara are all in the same boat. All 3 teams seem to want to bring them back and I don't see them holding out into the season. With the new CBA, they'll all get fined 40k a day. None have made significant money yet, so I think deals get done. Both Gordon and Bell are evidence against holding out.

Re: Kamara Holdout?
I'm not very worried at the moment. We saw Zeke and Thomas do the same last year and got paid. Saints have about $7M in cap if they wanted to make something happen this year and make more space next year.

The problem with the Saints is that they don't have the money to resign him. They're already way over cap for next year

Re: Kamara Holdout?
The Chiefs had no money, and then they extended Mahomes, Chris Jones and Kelce. The salary cap is a hurdle that is easily cleared if the team really wants to sign a guy, and an easy excuse if they don't. I wouldn't blame NO for going either way on this Kamara decision, but if they decide to move on it will be because they don't want him (at least at the price he wants) not because they can't fit him into the cap.Lord_Varys wrote: ↑Mon Aug 31, 2020 5:54 pmI am seeing $7M on multiple sites.jjleurquin wrote: ↑Mon Aug 31, 2020 3:44 pm The problem with the Saints is that they don't have the money to resign him. Re: Kamara Holdout?
Overthecap has them at 13M over this year and 36M over next year ASSUMING the cap next year increases to 215M which I've seen a ton of talk itll decreasejjleurquin wrote: ↑Tue Sep 01, 2020 5:12 amNot sure where you saw that. spotrac has them 77M$ over for 2021.Lord_Varys wrote: ↑Mon Aug 31, 2020 5:54 pmI am seeing $7M on multiple sites.jjleurquin wrote: ↑Mon Aug 31, 2020 3:44 pm The problem with the Saints is that they don't have the money to resign him. Players and agents had better be watching very carefully right now. The cap is a formula based upon gross revenues, and right now there is some significant uncertainty in the league with the COVID restrictions and then a bunch of the players and some coaches insisting on inserting themselves into the social justice jihad, which is sure to piss off a relevant portion of the fan base.
There’s a very real chance the cap goes down by a significant portion next year, and savvy teams have an eye on that right now.

Re: Kamara Holdout?
The NFL is losing a lot of fans, and it's not just COVID, for sure. The NFL getting politicized, is alienating themselves from a large portion of their fan base, and it's not surprising. I think the cap will continue to decline for years, now. The idea that the cap will continue to rise, as some suggested with the Mahomes deal, is certainly not set in stone. There are some who are not only boycotting the NFL, but lashing out at the sponsors of the NFL. The NFL becoming politicized, will also politicize those who don't share their current views againt them, and their sponsors. This helmet thing is a big deal to a lot of people, especially after they refused to allow Witten and the Cowboys to pay respect to assassinated police officers just a few short years ago.Bronco Billy wrote: ↑Tue Sep 01, 2020 7:01 am Players and agents had better be watching very carefully right now. The increase in streaming and the a la carte model rather than traditional cable subscriptions will likely have an impact on future TV deals and declines in overall revenue also.FantasyFreak wrote: ↑Tue Sep 01, 2020 8:11 amThe NFL is losing a lot of fans, and it's not just COVID, for sure. Re: Kamara Holdout?
Very true. I think the NFL has hit it's peak in revenue, and will decline for quite a few years. To bring it back to Kamara, he's holding out because he probably sees the class next year of FA's, the declining cap, and knows if he's going to get any good deal, it's now.Orenthal Shames wrote: ↑Tue Sep 01, 2020 9:18 amThe increase in streaming and the a la carte model rather than traditional cable subscriptions will likely have an impact on future TV deals and declines in overall revenue also.FantasyFreak wrote: ↑Tue Sep 01, 2020 8:11 amThe NFL is losing a lot of fans, and it's not just COVID, for sure.
