Any love for Love?
Re: Any love for Love?
It could also be that Mckissic is there because they want someone who can run routes like Gibson as they make those plays a major cog of the offense and AP/Love are still the primary between the tackles guys. The only RB that hasn't worked with backups and 1's in Washingtons camp is AP. It is way to early to tell as the new coaches give players fully unknown to them reps. Barber is probably there because AP is 35 and Love is off 2years of injury so yeah a 3rd primary carry RB is prudent.

Re: Any love for Love?
I’d love (pun intended) to see Love do well, but I believe that the thinking that he’s comparable to CMC is misguided. I think he is very talented, but I worry about his size in taking on a large role, and I have some real doubts that the knee is just not going to be near the same and that it will negatively impact him moving forward. They’ve already had to go in after the initial surgery because of the scar tissue causing problems.
I sincerely hope that I’m wrong. He was so fun to watch run when healthy.

That is Gibson that is getting those sorta comparisons.Bronco Billy wrote: ↑Wed Aug 26, 2020 9:54 am I’d love (pun intended) to see Love do well, but I believe that the thinking that he’s comparable to CMC is misguided. Loves Height Weight is fine for an nfl RB? Basically the same as Barry Sanders, Emitt Smith, Walter Peyton? He is basically the Prototypical NFL RB build.

Give me about a week and I’ll list all the guys his size that failed. Emmitt was 20 lbs heavier, and Love doesn’t remotely resemble Sanders or Payton. 5’-9” and 200 lbs (205 soaking wet and after a buffet maybe) is not prototypical RB size - unless we’re talking about CoP RBs.Yarnith wrote: ↑Wed Aug 26, 2020 10:06 amI donno if anyone compared Love to CMC? Re: Any love for Love?
Love is 5'9, 205 lbs. Basically identical to Aaron Jones. There are plenty of reasons he could fail, but his size really isn't anomalous enough to read much into. Health, opportunity, and whether he's the same player as he was at his peak in college, those are the things that'll factor in.

Re: Any love for Love?
Give me 5 seconds to say there are millions of people who are 5'9" 205 pounds that have failed to be successful NFL RBs. 5 8-10 200-220lbs is what NFL RB's are as a rule. Smith was 210, as was Peyton and Sanders. When you avg inches to weight totals its about 3pounds an inch. That means for him to have the same "Bulk" for his frame he needs to be 207 pounds. Sanders was only 5'8" but only 200 pounds so he ideally should have been 204lbs. I mean this whole logic train leaps off the rails into a fiery death of screeching silliness. Love has questions but his size/weight isn't one.Bronco Billy wrote: ↑Wed Aug 26, 2020 10:24 amGive me about a week and I’ll list all the guys his size that failed. Are you saying that 5'9, 200lbs isn't on the smaller side? Because it is.Yarnith wrote: ↑Wed Aug 26, 2020 12:32 pmGive me 5 seconds to say there are millions of people who are 5'9" 205 pounds that have failed to be successful NFL RBs. 5 8-10 200-220lbs is what NFL RB's are as a rule. I am saying he is right in the same zone of height weight as most NFL backs. Because he is.dynastyninja wrote: ↑Wed Aug 26, 2020 12:39 pmAre you saying that 5'9, 200lbs isn't on the smaller side? Profootball reference has him 5'9" 205 as does ESPN. I donno where the 200 is from but then who really knows outside Washington? Sports-reference says he was 5'10' 196 in college so he apparently shrank an inch and gained 10 pounds. Point is, its not the thing that should be worrying people.

dalvin 5'9" 210
Aaron Jones 5'9" 207
Bryce love 5'9 200
Mixon 6'1" 220
CMC 5'11" 205
Gibson 6' 220 (just for shits and giggles)
Sanders 5'11" 211
Ekeler 5'10 200
Cam Akers 5'10 215
Deandre Swift 5'10 215
So hes what about 5 pounds under the average for his height, that didnt seem to hurt CMC or ekeler one bit. If you dont want a guy thats fine but it shouldnt be because hes 200 instead of 205. He's slightly on the lanky side yes but hes still well within the average height/weight its not like hes out here 5'10 190 looking like a short receiver
Re: Any love for Love?
Especially when he's as explosive of a player as he is. If he has success, it's not going to be based on volume; but more in a Jamaal Charles home run threat whenever he touches the ball kind of way.

Exactly. If he still is as explosive, of course.

Well... true. But will he stay bad? That's the question, and I'm leaning towards no. His mechanical issues seem fixable in the same way that Lamar's were.FantasyFreak wrote: ↑Wed Aug 26, 2020 5:53 pmIt was expected because he is bad.IZigUZag wrote: ↑Wed Aug 26, 2020 5:29 pmIf you can buy low on him because of it, go for it.
