Too much for Burrow in SF?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Superflex: Burrow or Tannehill/Singletary/D Parker and #11 Pick?

Too much for Burrow in SF?

Postby Dibbles » Tue Aug 25, 2020 8:20 am

Im a perennial contender so never have a top pick or a shot at a young QB, only QB’s are Russ, Darnold, Tannehill and Winston. Can land #1 overall which would easily be Burrow for me in Superflex, for the following who are all bench players (and fringe drops for me to cut down rosters pre-draft):

Tannehill
D Singletary
D Parker
My #11 overall pick

Too much??

I'd probably do it with the caveat that these guys are fringe drops for you. It would be helpful to know your roster, how many keepers, and which 3 guys you'd be able to keep since you are shedding 3 in this deal

18 keepers, currently carrying 26 players. Below are 21 players who I would like to keep, but I can only keep 18 - and I've CAPITALIZED the names involved in this deal.

Russ, Darnold, Winston, TANNEHILL
Cook, Mixon, A Jones, Mattison, T Coleman, SINGLETARY
Adams, Evans, Golladay, ARob, Boyd, PARKER
Kittle, Jonnu Smith, Ian Thomas
Butker
49'ers

Easy drops are: M Boone, Darwin Thompson, C Davis, B Perriman, Njoku

I'd do this in a heartbeat. Admittedly, i'm not a fan of Singletary really.

Me either, although I'd obviously keep him over someone like Ian Thomas. Feels to me like losing the fringe depth of Singletary and Parker for a shot at Burrow in SF is worth it.

This is the price you will need to pay for the situation you are in. I think it's worth it. Giving up such fringe-y guys without getting into any real value seems like a win to land Burrow in a SF.

So you get to clear needed roster spots from the end of your bench and get the 1.01 for a package of players that won't sniff your starting lineup most weeks? Yea, I would do that

Long term, I think this will have been a good price for Burrow.

Burrow for me because these guys won't make the roster. I would try to move the 11 down to something else because 11 in SF is a very good picks still.
Team 1: 12 team, PPR
1QB, 2RB, 3WR, 1TE, 1Flex

Mahomes, Lawrence
Najee, Swift, Javonte, Jamaal W, Murray
DK, DJM, Juju, Jameson, Gallup, Van
Pitts, Friermuth
1.01, 1.04, 1.11, 1.12, 3.10, 2 firsts next year

Team 2: 12 Team, SF TEP (1.5 PPR)
1QB, 2RB, 3WR, 1TE, 2Flex, 1 SF

Mahomes, Burrow, Cousins, Rudolph
CEH, Swift, Gibson, Jacobs, Mattison, Scott, McFarland
DK, AJB, Ridley, McLaurin, Kupp, Landry, Mims, Hamler, Miller, Johnson, Robinson
Andrews, H. Henry, Sternberger, Alie-Cox, Herndon

Same as Team 2
Watson, Burrow, Lance, Z. Wilson
Pollard, Mattison
Chase, D. Smith, Boyd, Hardman, E. Moore, Cephus, A. Rodgers, Harry, Boykin, A. Tate, Miller
Hockenson, Thomas, Albert O, Njoku
3 additional firsts

Same as Team 2
TLaw, Burrow, Watson, Darnold
CEH, Gus, Cohen
Juju, Chark, Shenault, Boyd, Landry, Renfrow, Robinson,
Engram, Kmet, Firkser, Schultz, Arnold, Herndon
5 additional firsts

I'm actually surprised the guy couldn't get more than this. Well done.

Late to this thread, but you smashed it. I see a bunch of fringe players with little chance of breaking into the top 15 at their position (Parker, Singletary) being swapped for a guy with a chance to be a top 5-8 QB for multiple seasons going forward.

He really is that good. Burrow is a gamer. You did great.
