SF Startup Draft Trade Scenarios

Postby MoneyPumpkins » Tue Aug 11, 2020 8:07 pm

I am on the clock with the 1.06 pick in a 12 team SF startup.

First five picks went: Mahomes, Jackson, McCaffrey, Barkley, D Watson. No real surpirises.

I would have taken Watson if he was available. Also, I'm not looking to compete in year 1.

I have a few offers for my 1.06, please let me know what's the best move.
10 Team. 29 man roster, 0.5 PPR: 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE, 1 Def, 1 K
QB: J. Winston, J. Garoppolo, P Rivers, J Rosen
RB: S. Barkley, D. Cook, M. Breida, A. Jones, J. Kelly
WR: C. Davis, M. Williams, J. Brown, J. Gordon, C. Sutton, A. Miller, DJ Moore, J. Crowder, K. Coutee, M. Gallup, G. Allison, D. Moore, L. Treadwell, C. Meredith, C. Samuel
TE: G. Kittle, D. Njoku, D. Goedert
2019 Picks 1st, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th

I would hold and go with Murray. The first offer might pay off if Wilson is available at the 1.09, but it's a gamble.

Thanks, and Murray is who I am planning to take if I keep the 1.06. I just thought that I could pick him up at 1.09 and then get a 11 move bonus by going from 4.07 to 3.09.

If Wilson gets snipped, I would still get a shot at Dak, Wilson or Burrow.

If you aren't looking to compete year 1 then id make the move to 1.09 and either grab one of Dak, Wilson, Murray or change to compete year one and take one of Zeke or kamara. Or just a trade down again

Don’t love the 1.06 spot so I like the trade back to 1.09. If you aren’t looking to compete though I’d look to keep trading back if you can, instead of grabbing a player at 1.9. First rounders in a startup are more likely to lose value than gain and you want as many assets gaining value as possible if you aren’t competing. (Not that you want to force a deal, it’s fine to pick if the right deal isn’t available, just saying to be open to continuous trade backs).

Yeah, good trade for you. Even if you didn't get Murray (I'd be shocked if he fell), I think all the QBs there are the same between Murray, Dak, Wilson. And if all of them went in a row, trade back again. Surely someone would want Zeke or Kamara.

So after trading the 1.06, here's how it went:

1.06 Zeke
1.07 CEH
1.08 K Murray

So its the second time I got snipped this draft. I wanted Watson but he went 1.05.

So I traded back down and I'm hoping to have Wilson, Dak or Burrow fall to me.

Extrmely slow startup draft.

Russ is 9 months younger than Stafford (who I hear is now old), I'm not wild about him early in a punt y1 strat.
