Trading for A.Jones or S.Michel

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Trading for A.Jones or S.Michel

Postby The Pyrate » Sun Jun 28, 2020 10:22 am

I need an RB2. I win the league if I can pair D.Henry with A.Jones. But will the 1.12 and Calvin Ridley be enough to get A.Jones? What will it take?

Or, should I just settle with trading the 1.12 for the 2.04 and S.Michel and trust that Billie B will hit the running game more often with Brady gone?

What else does my team need heading into the rookie draft in August?

The 1.12 and Ridley should be enough for Jones in my opinion (even an overpay), but I'm very high on Ridley.

Ridley > Jones >>> Michel

If you want to gamble on Michel, then 1.12 for 2.04 & Michel makes sense.

I think Packaging Ridley should fetch you a better trade than what’s mentioned.

I wouldn't trade Ridley straight for Jones, think that is just crazy. Michel trade is reasonable and the one I would go for.

Yeah, the Michel trade makes more sense. I just don't trust Belicheck, and now with Cam Newton joining the team, he may eat into Michel's carries.

Do you think a 1.12 and a 2021 2nd rounder would get A.Jones? I'd rather have Jones. Maybe I should send Smith-Shuster instead of Ridley?

Is the Michel trade really on the table? Getting Michel at the cost of trading back 6 places, do I understand that correctly? That seems too good to pass up, and doesn't necessarily mean you can't later pursue Jones, right?

To me, there isn't a massive gap (unless someone falls a bit) between 1.12 and 2.04 in this draft, So if you can add Sony for that I'd take him as a depth piece. Ridley and 1.12 feels like a steep price to pay to acquire Jones. I know you're probably looking at his RB2 overall finish last year, and while I'm not the biggest "regression" guy in the world, you' have to think 19 TD's isn't happening again.

It's always tough to say "I'll win the league" if I make a trade in June, as there is always an element of luck involved come playoff time, but Jones should be good again this year. Start with 1.12 straight, and maybe add a future 2nd and see if that gets it done.

I dont think most Jones owners would sell him for Ridley straight up. It would require the pick attached, though you should try to get a 2nd comi g back to you too.

Jones has become pretty undervalued in the fantasy community. Sony Michel won't win you anything, but that offer is practically free for him so you'd have to take it.

I'd do that Michel trade. Is this the team in your sig, though? I wouldn't think a single piece is ensuring a 'ship with that roster as is.

All suggestions duly noted. I do think that JuJu is the highest I would go in pursuit of A.Jones. Regression aside, I'm still picking him as a top-10 back this year. He or Michael upgrades over Frank Gore.

Yes for the team in my sig. I do think I am an RB2 away, and then all have to stay healthy of course. I have some decent depth and our league does allow for flexing. Most of last year I ran 3WRs. Finished 10-3 and then Evans and Ridley both went down week before championship, and I still only finished 20 points off of the league champ.

I may deal Cam now that he has a home. He could get me A.Jones straight up maybe?

Thanks guys!
