MThom vs Picks

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

MThom vs Picks

Postby Slackalacker » Tue Jun 09, 2020 3:05 pm

Team 1, 1QB turning SF in 2021

I received interest in MT with a suggestion of the following:

Give: MT + 2.3
Get: 1.1 + 1.3 + 1.10 + 3.5

I know that with the picks I’d easily get CEH + Burrow (1.2 owner is going RB). Tua might be there at 1.10 since the league isn’t transitioning to SF until next year. I figure it’s a risk not worth taking but I want to see how close it is to determine if it is worth countering.

Obviously I’m in it to win it this year but I want to be competitive long term too and not let my team age out.

I’d want at least one solid established stud piece coming back in a deal for MT. I wouldn’t move a player like him for just picks.

This. Even if the value is close I'd want a piece I can build around coming back with the picks. Shoot for a young, ascending guy like Sanders or DK or Ridley

Funny enough he has both sanders and Ridley, but he values them way over market value so I doubt that happens.

I appreciate the input so far, it’s what I figured and it gives me an idea for a counter, I’ll happily walk away if we are too far off.

I tend to be the guy who trades for value in May / June and fills out the roster later.

Truthfully, the value here is on the picks side. In this case, though, I'd keep Thomas: your team is too damn good as-is, and I wouldn't give up the real championship potential that you seem to have in 2020 despite the value. (Now, take away 1.10 or maybe even take away the 1.03 and add Ridley, and we're talking!!)

Too me it all comes down to the rest of your roster, your team is stacked and should be competing this season. So it comes down to you basically playing for the upcoming shift to a SF or go for it again. If you do go for it I'd definitely take Burrow at 1.3 after you take the rb of your choice at 1.1. I wouldn't be adding the 2.3 to the deal either and I'd be looking to add a wr there. If it's me I'm going for it this year, keeping MT and try to add a qb or two on waivers or through a trade mid season.
